A doctor by profession and a social worker by passion, Dr. Dhar challenges the perception around social work and advocates for following your purpose over chasing money.  His story explores navigating societal skepticism, finding meaning beyond the clinic walls, and achieving success on your own terms.

Dr. K.R. Dhar, currently residing in Delhi, was born and brought up in West Bengal. He pursued his education in West Bengal but completed his studies in Delhi, where he also started his professional career.

By profession, Dr. Dhar is a doctor, and as a hobby, he engages in social work. He holds the position of President at the Dhruv Social Awareness Forum in Delhi.

Expressing his concern, Dr. Dhar observes a shift in societal perceptions towards social work, attributing it to the profit-driven motives of certain NGOs, which has tarnished the reputation of the sector. Despite facing skepticism, Dr. Dhar advocates for passionate engagement in social service, disregarding external judgment.

Dr. Dhar acknowledges that criticism is inevitable in any field, including medicine, where he often encounters negative remarks about doctors. However, he advocates for disregarding such negativity and remaining focused on one's work.

Reflecting on the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Dhar says he provided free telephonic and video consultations and effectively supported people. He believes it's time to shift focus away from worrying excessively about COVID-19 and instead concentrate on taking necessary precautions. Embracing the philosophy of 'Karma', he emphasizes the importance of doing one's best without fixating on the future.

During the pandemic, Dr. Dhar engaged in charity work despite the opportunity to earn a high salary by joining a COVID hospital. He found fulfillment in serving others during this challenging period, highlighting his enjoyment of the experience.

Dr. Dhar believes that success comes from a mix of hard work and luck. We cannot control our luck, so it is better to focus on working as hard as we can and not worry too much about the outcomes because worrying  would not change anything.

His advice to people is to pursue a career they love, rather than chasing money. Just like how different doctors charge different fees, financial success is not solely determined by the profession you choose. He warns against making money through dishonest means and emphasizes the importance of honesty for mental peace.

Dr. Dhar thinks it is crucial not to choose a career just because of pressure from others, but to follow our passions instead. His success mantra is to do what you love, ignore critics, and stand up for what you believe in.

He advises parents to not set overly high expectations for their children and to be realistic about what they expect. He believes that academic exams and real-life challenges are very different.

In conclusion, he says that people should follow their passions and their hard work would help them overcome any obstacles in their path to success.
