As a Professor, Komal takes great pleasure in introducing her students to the intricacies of Pharmacology and making it easier for them through conceptual clarity.

Dr Komal Sharma is a Professor of Pharmacology at Bhupal Noble's Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences. She has been there  for twenty-four years now. She belongs to Punjab and since her father was a Professor of Sanskrit, she got further inclined towards Teaching. Komal considers Teaching as a social work rather than just a source of earning income.

Komal did her graduation from Punjab University, Chandigarh. Thereafter, she did her Master of Pharmacy (Pharmacology). Komal then got married in Rajasthan and joined BN College as a lecturer. After which, there was no looking back and she gradually got promoted to a Senior Lecturer, then an Associate Professor and she is currently serving as a Professor of Pharmacology. While pursuing her teaching career, Komal completed her PhD from Mohanlal Sukhadia University.

Talking about the pandemic, Komal says that Covid brought families together and had many learning outcomes to offer. She adds that being a teacher, she exercised all tools possible to deliver lectures to her students. Besides teaching, Komal also indulged in cooking during the pandemic. At the same time, she feels sad to have lost her dear ones to the disease.

As a message for the youth, Komal says that they need to get more serious in today’s technologically advanced and competitive environment. She laments that today’s generation is very much engrossed in video games and are not productive. Komal urges the youth to put extra efforts to create their own identity.

If Komal could go back in a Time Machine, she would like to revisit her student life that offered her many learnings.

In her free time, Komal likes to cook delicious and new recipes for her children and guests. She also spends time with her friends enjoying life, revisiting old places and singing some good songs.

Komal says that since Pharmacology is a subject that students find difficult, she would consider herself a successful teacher if she is able to make it easy for her students.
