Following in the footsteps of her father, Dr. Jyoti achieved her dream of becoming a professor.

Dr. Jyoti Kanthalia is an Economics lecturer and the head of the Economics Department at Vidya Bhawan Rural Institute in Udaipur.

Jyoti was born and brought up in Udaipur itself. She did her schooling at Digamber Jain school and graduated from MG College. She says, since childhood, she wanted to become a professor. She did her M.Phil, NET and Ph.D. to achieve her goal.

When asked about the role models in her life, Jyoti says that she considers her father as her role model, who always gave importance to her and played the role of a mother, too, after her death. Jyoti says that her father is also no more now, but she still remembers his advice and moves ahead in her life.

Sharing her Covid experience, Jyoti says that she did online work and felt that family and health are more important in life than success and money.

In her free time, Jyoti likes to go for a walk or does exercise.

To the new generation, Jyoti says that they should grab every opportunity that comes their way. Success will automatically come to them if they work with full effort.

To one and all, Jyoti advises that there is something more beyond what we think. So we should not stop at any stage and go on moving ahead in our lives.
