Dr. Jayshri Saxena is a highly esteemed gynaecologist and obstetrician at Dr. Ramesh Memorial Hospital in Jaipur, bringing with her 25 years of dedicated experience in the field of gynaecology. Her passion for medicine began at a young age, inspired by her grandfather, who instilled in her a deep respect for the medical profession.
From the tender age of five, she envisioned herself as a doctor, driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in people's lives. As she entered her teenage years and gained a better understanding of the medical field, her interest solidified into a specific ambition: to become a gynaecologist. This calling allowed her to focus on women’s health, providing care and support during some of the most significant moments in their lives. Dr. Saxena's commitment to her patients and her profession reflects not only her expertise but also her genuine compassion for the well-being of others, making her a trusted figure in her community.
Dr. Saxena proudly shares that she runs her own fifteen-bed hospital, established in memory of her father-in-law. For her, this achievement goes beyond personal success—it symbolises her ability to give back to the community by providing employment opportunities to others while also honouring the legacy of her family. She finds deep satisfaction in raising the profile of her parents through her work. Dr. Saxena is also grateful for the unwavering support of her husband, who not only understands the demands and emergencies of her profession but has always stood by her side, enabling her to pursue her passion with dedication and confidence.
Dr. Jayshri hails from Bhopal, where she completed her high school education at a government high school. After finishing her eleventh grade, she pursued a B.Sc Part 1 from Maharani Laxmibai College in Bhopal. Driven by her passion to become a doctor, she appeared for the PMT exam for the first time and successfully cleared it. However, despite her academic success, she was unable to qualify for admission due to being underage at the time. Undeterred, she took a gap year, dedicating herself to further preparation. On her second attempt, her determination paid off when she achieved an impressive 16th place in the overall rankings in Madhya Pradesh. This achievement marked the beginning of her journey into the medical field, showcasing her resilience and dedication to her dream.
Reflecting on her career, Dr. Jayshri Saxena shares that she completed her medical graduation in 1998 from Jamnagar, after which she returned to Bhopal to pursue her senior residency under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Jayshree Beedkar, a highly respected gynaecologist. This mentorship played a pivotal role in shaping her expertise. Following her residency, Dr. Jayshri joined Bhagirathi Hospital in Sagar as a consultant, where she worked for four years.
During this time, she honed her skills by performing a wide range of complex surgeries, including abdominal hysterectomy, vaginal hysterectomy, and other challenging cases, alongside a team of dedicated young doctors. She credits this period for providing her with invaluable hands-on experience and deepening her knowledge in the field of gynaecology, laying the foundation for the successful practice she leads today.
After her marriage, she moved to Jaipur, where she encountered numerous challenges, both in terms of achieving the professional output she desired and securing a stable job. Initially, she took on freelancing work and joined 2-3 hospitals, gaining experience across different environments.
Over time, she began running an OPD for two years, which eventually led her to take a bold step forward—opening her own five-bed hospital in Muhana. With limited resources, she successfully handled many difficult cases, showcasing her resilience and dedication to her patients. Dr. Jayshri credits her husband for his unwavering support during this time, especially in assisting with patient transfers during complications. After a decade of hard work and growth, she fulfilled another milestone by opening a larger hospital in Ptrakar Colony, Jaipur, marking a new chapter in her medical journey.
Recalling her childhood, Dr. Saxena fondly remembers the joyful moments spent with her friends, siblings, and parents. She believes that childhood is the most memorable and carefree phase of life, filled with happiness and simplicity. Despite studying in a Hindi-medium school, she excelled academically, proving her determination and capability.
Her hard work and dedication paid off when she achieved remarkable success in medical college, securing the fifth position and later the ninth position in her final year at Gandhi Medical College. Dr. Saxena's journey highlights her perseverance and ability to overcome challenges, from her early education to her impressive academic achievements in the field of medicine.
When reflecting on her journey, Dr. Jayshri Saxena candidly acknowledges that she has made many small mistakes throughout her career, each of which became valuable learning experiences. She views these mistakes as stepping stones to growth, always striving not to repeat them and to continuously improve.
