An artist from Amritsar, Jagjot has been working in this field since 2007. He always tries to convey a message through his paintings.
Jagjot says he was fond of art and paintings since childhood. He was inspired by his father, who used to do paintings but couldn’t continue it because of family responsibilities. Initially, he used to do wall paintings.
Jagjot says he enjoys doing a painting in any medium like oil paints, acrylic, watercolor , pencil sketching, etc.
Talking about his achievements, Jagjot says he has also received an appreciation letter from the Prime Minister's Office for his art. He has made more than 1100 paintings till now. He has presented portraits of three former Presidents of India done by him to them and received appreciation letters from them. Ahead of the 95th Oscars, Jagjot had painted portraits of 100 Hollywood stars to commemorate the award night. For this art, he claims to have been recorded in more than thirty-five world records like Limca Book of Records and many more. He was also awarded by the US Art Gallery. He says, one of his proudest achievements is receiving an Honorary Doctorate from a university. He says his mother’s dream came true when he received a doctorate.
When asked about his role models, Jagjot says he considers the world-famous legendary painter Pablo Picasso as his role model. He also seeks inspiration from M. F. Husain, the legendary Indian artist.
Jagjot says he has always received great support from his family. He credits his success to his family and suggests every parent should support their kids’ talent other than studies.
Jagjot suggests the aspirants who want to pursue their career in the field of painting to start practicing the art with simple sketching and using simple colors. He advises them to showcase their talent on reality shows or on different platforms.
When asked how he deals with stress, Jagjot says he has never faced any pressure from his family and that's’ why he was able to create paintings with a free mind. He advises artists to give wings to their creativity without taking pressure.
