A dedicated physiotherapist, Dr. Harsh Shekhawat has treated multiple patients with full devotion. He motivates aspiring physiotherapists to remain committed, trust the process, and contribute to the field's advancement through research and ethical practice. Additionally, he is an accomplished marathon runner, having completed two half marathons and one full marathon.

Dr. Harsh Shekhawat serves as a Clinical Physiotherapist at the Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences, Umarda, Udaipur, and is currently posted in the Physiotherapy Department of the college. He completed his bachelor's degree in 2021 and has been practicing clinically at PIMS for the past year.

Dr. Harsh believes that Physiotherapy has a promising future in India as an allied health science, gaining recognition for its effectiveness and versatility in treatment. Physiotherapy offers non-surgical treatment options, making it a preferred choice for many. In sports, the need for physiotherapists is evident. One can also specialize in Strength Conditioning or become a personal trainer focusing on high-intensity interval training. Group therapy is another effective approach. Although physiotherapy is not widely recognized in India yet, he is optimistic that with increasing research, it will become a leading profession, encouraging young people to consider it as a career path.

Dr. Harsh shares that his schooling took place in Udaipur, where he initially struggled to decide on a career path. Unable to pursue MBBS due to certain circumstances, he began preparing for the JET exam. During this time, he was introduced to physiotherapy, which intrigued him. He completed his Physiotherapy degree from Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University and interned at Apollo Hospital, Gandhinagar. He then embarked on his clinical practice, eventually joining PIMS to further his knowledge and expertise. He emphasizes the importance of research and clinical practice in the field, urging young professionals to engage in these activities to enhance their skills.

Reflecting on his personal achievements, he takes pride in his physical transformation. Previously overweight, he underwent a significant change through yoga, aerobics, and marathon training, which he pursued for one and a half years. He has participated in several marathons and plans to compete in the TATA AIG Marathon in Mumbai and Delhi. In his clinical practice, he recalls a case where he helped an elderly lady recover from a lateral knee replacement, enabling her to walk independently within a month.

Dr. Shekhawat admits to being shy and introverted when he first joined PIMS, but he has since learned to be more open and has acquired skills in administration and management. He emphasizes the importance of staying calm, patient, and trusting the process, especially in today's fast-paced world where many give up easily. He advises aspiring physiotherapists to focus on their goals, stay positive, and give their best effort.

When asked about his role models, Dr. Harsh mentions David Goggins, a former US Marine officer, from whom he learned the value of dedication. He also looks up to Eliud Kipchoge, the fastest marathon runner, and Virat Kohli, particularly admiring Kohli's dedication to fitness and his performance in the 2022 World Cup against Pakistan.

Dr. Harsh’s mantra is to "always trust the process and keep hustling," believing that this mindset helps overcome life's challenges.

He encourages physiotherapists to be ethical, respectful, and dedicated, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and research. He acknowledges that India lags behind in physiotherapy and research compared to other countries, urging the youth to explore these areas and contribute to the field's growth. He advises against being motivated solely by financial gain and encourages spreading awareness about the field's potential. He concludes by urging everyone to persevere and work hard, regardless of the challenges they face.
