Using his skills as a homeopathic doctor, Dr. Harish Kumar is creating awareness in rural areas of our nation. He feels that his profession is a field that requires a selfless heart working for a social cause.

Dr. Harish Kumar is a homeopathic doctor and co-founder of Manav Mangal Seva Sansthan.

Harish was born in a small village in the Mathura district. He did his schooling from Bisawar Inter college. After that, he did B.Sc. from Mathura B.Sc. College. Harish then did a Diploma in Homeopathic Medicines and Surgery and in 1989 took admission in Bharti Homeopathic Medical College, Bharatpur to pursue BHMS.

Harish says that in the final year of his college, he, along with a few friends, started working for an NGO, Samridhi Sansthan, and started providing free medical services in villages.

Harish shares that with a dedication to work for society and people in need, he, along with Dr. Ram Mohan Gupta and Dr. Sanjay Sharma, started their own NGO, Manav Mangal Seva Sanstha. Under it, they started organizing free medical camps in villages and worked to create awareness among the rural people. They also established a homeopathic hospital where they used to give medicines at just a rupee. They also worked extensively in prostitutes’ areas and used to go door-to-door to give medicines.

Harish says that they also started trying for government aid and the first project they got was related to Hepatitis vaccination in the Bharatpur district. They had to convince people to take vaccines and medicines due to many misconceptions about the same.

Talking about the COVID-19 pandemic, Harish says that they worked in three districts: Jaipur, Alwar, and Bharatpur. They organized awareness camps for covid- appropriate behavior and later on for vaccinations.

Talking about his achievements, Harish says that he has been awarded by the State Bank of India and the District Collector. The Women and Child Development Department made him a member of a committee as well.

Harish opines that to come into this profession one should have passion and dedication towards serving society and not just for earning money.

If given a Time Machine, Harish would like to go back to his childhood and relive those pleasant memories. He recalls he was associated with the Arya Samaj and used to take part in hawans. He would love to redo all those things.
