Dr. Dinesh Kumar Agarwal serves as a Professor at Pacific College of Pharmacy, Udaipur (PCP). With both an M.Pharm degree and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology, he currently mentors five Ph.D. candidates at PCP while also instructing M.Pharm students in Pharmacology through regular theory and practical classes.
His academic journey began with schooling under the Rajasthan Board. In the year 2000, he commenced his B.Pharm. degree at MLSU, completing it in 2004. Subsequently, he pursued his masters at the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur, and obtained his Ph.D. from B N University. Presently, he finds fulfillment as a professor, benefiting from the guidance of Dr. P.K. Chaudhary.
Dr. Agarwal upholds the value of hard work instilled in him by his mother. She emphasized the correlation between goodness, diligence, and eventual success. He endeavors to inspire his students to excel in their field and fulfill their aspirations.
Regarding his role models, he says he reveres his mother for her lessons in patience and perseverance. He is recognized among his students for punctuality and profound subject knowledge, attributes stemming from a personal ethos of discipline and honesty.
Reflecting on an incident from his past, he recounts a pivotal moment when his teacher informed his mother of an instance of Dinesh skipping school. This prompted a heartfelt discussion between him and his mother about the significance of integrity, timeliness, and consistency in life. Since then, he has upheld these values steadfastly, earning appreciation from all his educators.
He firmly subscribes to the principle of 'do good, have good', asserting that altruism and integrity pave the way to success. His collaborative effort with his wife, Dr. Shikha Agarwal, resulted in the publication of their book by the American publisher Elsevier focusing on the individual discovery of drug compounds.
Dr. Agarwal advocates continuous learning and integrity among his students, emphasizing India's global significance in the pharmaceutical domain. He encourages them to attend classes regularly, respect their instructors, and cultivate a strong work ethic. He takes pride in the accomplished alumni network they have fostered.
Highlighting the plethora of opportunities in Pharmacy, both domestically and internationally, he enumerates various career paths, including roles in government sectors like pharmacists, clinical pharmacologists, drug inspectors, and government analysts. Additionally, private sector opportunities abound in production, quality control, quality assurance, clinical trials, regulatory affairs, and even in IT companies. He also champions the entrepreneurial spirit, suggesting the prospect of launching your own startups.
