Dr. Dheeraj Khandelwal is a Microbiologist, currently serving at the TB Culture & Drug Sensitivity Testing (DST) Lab in Jodhpur. With a specialization in tuberculosis treatment, Dr. Dheeraj diligently collects samples from eight districts, including Jalore, Pali, Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Jodhpur, to conduct thorough TB Culture and Drug Sensitivity tests.

His expertise and dedication to his field have been instrumental in advancing tuberculosis treatment and diagnostics. Prior to his current role, Dr. Dheeraj played a pivotal role in establishing and managing a Covid-19 Laboratory in the Tonk district.

Dr. Dheeraj was born and raised in a small village in Alwar, Rajasthan, he faced significant challenges and deprivations during his childhood. Despite those obstacles, he remained steadfast in his ambition to become a doctor. He completed his schooling in his village before pursuing an M.B.B.S. degree from Thanjavur Medical College in TamilNadu. Dr. Dheeraj began his medical career with the Medical Mobile Unit in Jhunjhunu, where he served for three months, followed by a year-and-a-half tenure at the Government Hospital in Alwar. He was subsequently transferred to Jhadoli, a small village, where he worked tirelessly for three years.

To further his specialization, Dr. Dheeraj joined SNMC Medical College in Jodhpur to pursue an M.D. in Microbiology. Upon completion, he was appointed as a Microbiologist at Jaipuria Hospital in Jaipur, where he served for two years. His commitment to his profession led him back to SNMC, Jodhpur, where he worked for seven months before taking on his current role at the TB Culture & DST Lab in Jodhpur.

From a young age, Dr. Dheeraj aspired to pursue a career in either medicine or engineering. With a family background predominantly in engineering, he chose to follow his passion for medicine. Growing up in a village with limited resources posed numerous challenges, including the lack of electricity, which made studying difficult. He often had to study during daylight hours or make special arrangements to study at night. Despite those hardships, he persevered, taking Science as his subject after the 10th grade and overcoming numerous obstacles to work in various rural areas, where he faced many adversities.

Dr. Dheeraj finds immense inspiration and motivation from his wife, whom he considers his role model. Her unwavering support and encouragement have been pivotal in his professional journey, driving him to work with full dedication and commitment.

His academic and professional achievements are noteworthy. Dr. Dheeraj shares that he was a Gold Medalist during his M.D. program, and his research papers have been published in prestigious National and International Journals. He has also presented posters at various medical conferences. However, beyond these accolades, Dr. Dheeraj considers the happiness and satisfaction of his patients as his greatest achievements.
