Dr. Deepak Tak is currently serving as the Principal of S.S. Polytechnic College, Udaipur. He joined SS Educational Society as a teacher in 2008 and since then has worked in varied capacities at the institution.
Deepak hails from Jodhpur and completed his schooling there only. After completing his schooling, he took a drop year to prepare for the RPET and then took admission to Jodhpur Engineering College in 2004. In 2008, after completing his B.Tech., he joined as a lecturer at SS College of Engineering, Udaipur.
Deepak shares that his favorite subject is Digital Electronics. He says that in a span of thirteen years in his career he has taught many engineering students. Meanwhile, he didn’t stop learning and completed a Ph.D. in 2017. Besides, he says that at the institution he worked in different capacities, from teaching to working with the management. In 2018, he was made the Principal of SS Polytechnic College, Udaipur, which is one of many colleges of the educational institution he works with and has been working there ever since.
Talking about his childhood, Deepak shares that up till 10th-grade, he was an average student academically and would play Cricket after school was over, But in his high school, he became serious about his studies as he realized that if he wanted to do something in life then he needed to study harder.
Talking about tough times in his life, Deepak shares that it was very tough for him to choose what to do next after high school. And when he opted for engineering, choosing between Electronics and Civil Engineering was also a bit challenging as his uncle was a Civil Engineer and wanted Deepak to join his business after completing Civil Engineering. He also had to take an education loan for his engineering studies.
During the Covid pandemic, Deepak says that the college administration had to take care of the studies of the students. Besides, to cater to the admissions of new students at the college was also challenging. They had to conduct online classes. But on a positive note, he says that the pandemic taught us how to sustain tough times which we would not have learned otherwise. He also adds if we adhere to the Covid protocols then we would be able to overcome the pandemic soon.
To engineering graduates, he says engineering is a good discipline and you should pursue it further by doing your masters in it.
He considers his father who after all the odds provided for his engineering education and always supported him as his role model. He also considers the director of the institution he works at as his role model for giving him many opportunities.
If he could go back in time, then Deepak would want to relive his engineering days and enjoy them more.
In his free time, he likes to be with his family and spend time with his daughters.
