Chitra is an Academician who feels patience is very important in life. She also opines that one should live their life to the fullest as we get this chance only once.

Dr. Chitra Shekhawat was born and brought up in Udaipur. She did her schooling from St. Anthony’s Senior Secondary School, Udaipur. She has done a masters in Human Resource Development from Mohanlal Sukhadia University and is also a Ph.D. holder. For the past eleven years, she has been working as a Faculty of Commerce and Management in the Department of Business Administration in B. N. College, Udaipur.

Apart from teaching, Chitra also looks after NSS and Scholarship activities of her college. She informs that at the time of admissions, students are often confused about which course to opt for and what will be its viability in the near future. She guides them  about how the course might shape in the coming five years and what all job opportunities and prospects a course might bring in. Chitra also informs the students about different social, literary, and cultural activities that the college has in store for them and how all this will help in their overall personality development.

Chitra says that coming from a Rajput family did bring some restrictions in her life. However, she finds herself lucky as her father was always in favor of getting a good education, and her father-in-law motivated her to pursue her career and do a job. She says that her mother wanted Chitra to become a doctor. However, she was from the commerce field and hence decided to get a Doctorate as per the wishes of her mother.

Chitra says that she had never thought of going into the field of teaching. She wanted to go into the corporate world and used to read Ratan Tata a lot. She was inspired by his struggle. However, life had other plans for her and so she came into teaching.

Chitra considers her father-in-law as a Role Model. He encouraged Chitra to join B.N. College and never stopped her from pursuing her dreams.

Talking about the Covid pandemic, Chitra says that we must adapt to the prevailing situation, whatever it may be. She says that she was well acquainted with Computers but never got a chance to use them in daily life. However, during the lockdown, all the classes shifted online and she did not struggle much in using a Computer or teaching digitally. She also got time to spend with her family and their bonding also strengthened.

Chitra feels that Education is important in creating a base for you and with the help of that base you get new opportunities in life that groom you and make you a better person.

Chitra feels that the young generation should be confident in their approach and be presentable. They should learn to communicate properly and be in a participative role.

Chitra says that her father-in-law passed away just after eight months of her marriage. If given a Time Machine, she would like to undo it.

In her free time, Chitra likes to travel and listen to music. She considers these activities as stress relievers. She also likes to spend time with her family and friends.
