A spine specialist, Dr. Chirayu has performed over 500 successful spine operations over the past 20 years. He received his training in spine surgery from renowned centres in Australia, Japan, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. Chirayu is the only spine surgeon from Rajasthan to serve on the faculty of AOSpine Asia Pacific, which established Shriram Spine Hospital in 2013. He believes education and experience are more crucial in life than experience, and he advises young people to work hard to gain admission to top medical institutes.

Dr. Chirayu Pamecha is a Spine Specialist and owner of Shri Ram Spine Hospital in Udaipur. He has been actively consulting people on spine-related problems for the past two decades. He began by working at American Hospital for six years before opening his own spine hospital seven years later. He claims to have conducted over 500 successful spine surgeries, making him a well-known figure in this profession. His specialities include spinal surgery, kyphosis surgery, and scoliosis surgery.

Speaking of his achievements, Dr. Chirayu says he is the only spine surgeon from Rajasthan who serves on the faculty of AOSpine Asia Pacific. He did a six-month AO Spine Fellowship in 2008 from the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. After coming back to India, he established Shriram Spine Hospital in 2013, a premier facility for spinal surgery in Rajasthan. He is an active member of the ASSI (Association of Spine Surgeons of India). He frequently presents papers at meetings held at the federal and state levels. He was an AOSIN representative from 2018 to 2020.

When asked about his inspiration to get into this profession, Dr. Chirayu states that his parents inspired him to pursue a career in medicine because his father, Dr. C.K. Pamecha, is also the most senior physician in Udaipur. His father founded Shri Ram Hospital 40 years ago, and he later joined the spine department. His mother is a teacher who manages kindergartens and nurseries and is also passionate about music. He also admires her sister and his dentist wife, Sonal Pamecha.

Dr. Chirayu states that after finishing his fellowship in Australia in 2008, he returned to India and discovered three youngsters suffering from hunchback (bent spine), but he was unable to assist them due to financial constraints. Later, he established a charitable fund to provide free surgery for youngsters with spinal abnormalities. Then, in 2014, he founded the Kubja Trust, which has since operated 110 children for free.

Dr. Pamecha was born and raised in Udaipur. He completed his education at St. Paul's Senior Secondary School. He obtained advanced training in adult and paediatric spinal issues at prestigious spine clinics in Australia, Japan, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. From 2004 to 2008, he trained in spine surgery at KEM Hospital in Mumbai.

Dr. Pamecha recalls that he spent his whole youth in Udaipur and was a very sincere guy. He also used to play a lot and do painting, and he still cherishes many childhood memories such as playing, night outs, visits to Nani's house, etc.

Dr. Chirayu describes his hardships, stating that his true fight began when he joined SMS Hospital in Jaipur after completing his schooling. He understood that his school days were gone, and it was time to put his skills to test in real life. After graduation, when he had to pick a speciality, he was unsure whether to pursue spine surgery because it remains the most difficult subject and carries the most danger for both the doctor and the patient. However, because he had always been interested in spine surgery, he chose to pursue it wholeheartedly. Because of his dedication and commitment, he is now a well-known spine specialist in Rajasthan.

Regarding his role models, Dr. Chirayu says he learnt from his family, friends, parents, and others around him. He thinks that anybody can teach and inspire someone else. He enjoys listening to Sadhguru, too. He also admires his father, who urged him to pursue a profession in medicine when he was young. He considers Dr. Bharat Dave and Dr. Vinod Lahiri to be his professional inspirations as well as mentors. He claims that both are enthusiastic about their profession and treat their patients gently by listening to them. He recognises these traits in himself and continuously draws inspiration from them.

Comparing education and experience, Dr. Chirayu believes that education and experience are inextricably linked, but education takes precedence. In his perspective, one should first have a good education before attempting to gather as much experience and information as possible. If you want to enhance your experience, go the additional mile, study hard, burn the midnight oil, and sweat it out—these linked twins of knowledge and experience will bring you to your goal, he argues. He also feels that reading is essential for knowledge acquisition.

Describing his success mantra, Dr. Chirayu says that for him, the satisfaction and trust of his patients are of utmost importance.

He advises young people aspiring to work in medicine to study hard for a few years before applying to elite medical schools. He notes that the path in this profession is long, but as they delve into medicine, they will find daily inspiration. He believes that sacrifice is inherent in the medical field and emphasizes the importance of time management and setting aside time for oneself.

He says that COVID has taught everyone to be self-centred, cherish their families, and recognise the importance of time. He claims that in the first wave, practically everyone had a great time, but in the second wave, many individuals had to deal with the pandemic's aftermath. He feels that one advantage of the epidemic was that everyone could breathe fresh air as nature began to restore itself.

If he had a time machine and could travel back in time, he would not alter anything since he had always wanted to be a spine surgeon. He also enjoys politics and may ponder about it in the future. He is grateful to God for His blessings on his parents, friends, wife, children, workplace, and more, and he feels completely satisfied.
