A Member Judge at the Consumer Forum, Udaipur, Dr. Bharat Bhusan believes that there’s no age for learning and one can learn from anyone irrespective of their age and these beliefs helped him to resume his studies at the age of 35.

Dr. Bharat Bhusan is serving as a Member Judge at the Consumer Forum, Udaipur.

Born and raised in Udaipur, Bharat received his entire formal education in Udaipur itself. He is an MA in Journalism and also received a Ph.D. in the subject in 2018.

Currently, Bharat is posted as a Member Judge at the Consumer Forum, Udaipur. He shares that anyone who wants to be in the same post as he is, is required to appear in an examination conducted by the concerned body and after clearing the exam, you are posted for five years as a Member Judge at a Consumer Forum.

Bharat shares that as per the Consumer Protection Bill, 2020, all the e-commerce platforms and the celebrities too who endorse consumer goods and products online have come under the purview of the laws that protect the rights of consumers. He says it’s a good step by the government to protect the rights of consumers.

Bharat believes that struggles are a part of life but they also make you successful. One who doesn’t surrender to struggles only becomes successful in life. He too had his share of struggles in his life. After working for ten years in the social sector, at the age of thirty-five, he resumed his studies and completed his MA and then Ph.D. which were not at all easy feats to achieve for him. He didn’t know anything about computers earlier, but when he joined Journalism, he learned all the technical aspects of Journalism and also acquainted himself with all the relevant technologies within the field.

He shares on the basis of his experience that there’s no age for learning. He also adds you can learn from anybody irrespective of their age.

Bharat doesn’t consider any one person as his role model. He emulates great personalities of the likes of Bhagat Singh, Khudiram Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, etc. who put service to the nation above all else and they are his role models too.

Bharat says that to succeed in life, it’s important to have a good friend whom you can consider your guru or role model and who can guide you and point out your merits and demerits.

Bharat says that it’s not required to have a formal degree to work in Journalism. He thinks that Journalism is about expressing, addressing, and articulating the issues that society faces. And anyone who can put forth their views and express themself can work in the field.

To aspiring journalists, he says that Journalism is a great way to serve society as with it you can bring positive changes in society. Besides, he advises that those who are interested in serving society and want to bring about a change in society should only join Journalism. He adds that social media is also helpful in addressing societal issues.

Bharat thinks leadership is a born trait in one’s personality but it can be developed with experience in life too. And leadership is about taking people along, working with them, and making them feel that you have got their backs.

Bharat thinks that education is more important than experience in life as education develops leadership in an individual which helps them grow in life. Besides, he says experience you gain by working only, and education and experience can’t be correlated.

His life mantra is that he can only work and the results of his actions are not in his hands. He says those who dont work gain nothing in life.

Bharat shares that the Covid pandemic was tough for everyone. Everyone had to face financial and emotional challenges due to the pandemic. Being an extrovert, for him, it was a challenge to stay at home only. But he says the pandemic taught us the importance of our families in life. During the pandemic, leveraging his free time he learned video editing and made videos for people who helped the needy selflessly during this time.

To the youth, his message is whatever you do, do it with your heart and give it your one hundred percent and your success will be guaranteed.
