A 12th class topper, Dr. Bal Gopal was driven by his ambitious dreams and worked tirelessly towards achieving them. Through sheer hard work and unwavering determination, he has not only turned his aspirations into reality but also propelled his career in teaching to new heights.

Dr. Bal Gopal Sharma currently serves as the Additional Chief Block Education Officer at Phalasiya near Udaipur.

When he was in eleventh standard, he aspired to become an RPSC officer. However, as he matured, he realised the frequent transfers associated with the job wouldn't align with his priority of caring for his parents. Thus, he wholeheartedly committed himself to the teaching profession.

Originally from Kolyari village in Jhadol Tehsil of Udaipur district, he comes from a humble farming background. He attended Rajkiya Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Kolyari, for his schooling. He started looking for employment opportunities early on to support his family.

Dr. Bal Gopal cleared the pre-test of BSTC in his first attempt and then studied STC for two years at the District Institute of Education and Training, Udaipur. He passed his STC exam in 2001 and took a private job at Shree BM Kiyada International School in Rajkot. He got married and later graduated in Sanskrit literature, English literature, and Philosophy from MLSU, Udaipur.

Dr. Bal Gopal then worked as a PRT at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jamnagar, and pursued his M.A. in Hindi. Due to his interest in Hindi, he completed his B.A. in the same subject. He was later selected as a Primary Teacher at Rajkiya Uchch Madhyamik Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Bichhiwara, by the Sanskrit Education Department of Rajasthan. He requested a transfer to his village school to live with his parents, where he faced many challenges due to the less staff and lack of infrastructure.

He further pursued his education, completing an M.A. in History and passing the NET exam twice in Hindi. He also cleared the SAT, a Rajasthan Eligibility Test for college lecturers, and became a Hindi Lecturer at the Government Kanwarpada Senior Secondary School, Udaipur. Since then, he has been dedicated to his profession and imparting knowledge to the students.

Discussing his role models, Dr. Bal Gopal expresses deep admiration for his father, whom he considers his foremost role model. His father's dedication to managing a large joint family through farming while fostering a spiritual environment at home has left a profound impact on him.

Additionally, he holds his teachers in high regard, crediting them with providing the encouragement and support necessary for his personal growth. He attributes his current position in life largely to their guidance and mentorship. Furthermore, he finds inspiration in the teachings and principles of Swami Vivekananda.

Regarding his achievements, Dr. Bal Gopal says he has achieved significant milestones, such as securing the 51st position in his 10th board and the first position in Rajasthan in his 12th class. His biggest achievement was securing the first position for the post of Hindi lecturer in the RPSC exams.

According to Bal Gopal, education plays a crucial role in a person's overall development. However, he also believes that experience is more valuable than education. He argues that a person with significant experience in a field, even with less formal education, can still achieve great success in their career.

Expressing his views about leadership, Dr. Bal Gopal describes himself as a natural leader, stating that he would fearlessly recite poems in front of large audiences during his school days. He actively engaged in various extracurricular activities, events, and festivals. As a teacher, he has hosted numerous programmes and led meetings as a principal. He feels happy guiding and mentoring students who have excelled in their careers through his guidance.

He reminisces about his school days, recalling how he proudly wore stitched half pants and carried a handmade bag made by his mother. His joy knew no bounds when his father gifted him a table and stool for studying after he passed his ninth standard. He dedicated himself to his studies, often studying until late at night. He firmly believes that hard work always yields results.

Amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, he ventured into online teaching via YouTube. Since 2021, he's been creating educational content for students, free of charge. While acknowledging the pandemic's devastating impact, including the loss of loved ones, he sees it as a lesson in cherishing life and relationships.

Dr. Bal Gopal admits to having little time for himself and his family due to his responsibilities as an Additional Chief Block Education Officer and the administrative duties towards his schools. Nevertheless, he advocates serving others and contributing to society and the nation.

He believes in living your life with simplicity and cautions against greed, regardless of one's position in society.
