Dr. Baharul Islam Laskar works as a Technical Assistant and Instructor of Computer Graphics in the Department of Visual Arts at Assam University. For the past ten years, he has been working in this field. In addition, he has experience of working in this field, including conducting seminars, creating paintings, participating in exhibitions, and accomplishing other experimental projects.
Dr. Baharul presently resides in Silchar. He was born in 1973 in Nayagaon, Assam. After completing schooling, he enrolled in the renowned Kallol Art School and began studying Fine Arts under the guidance of the renowned artist Pranav Guru.
Dr. Baharul shares that after noticing his artistic abilities, his instructor Kiran Shankar Roy advised him to pursue a career in art. He completed a Master of Fine Arts degree from Assam University in Silchar after earning a BBA in Fine Arts from the Government College of Art and Craft in Guwahati. With the assistance of co-guide Nirmal Kanti Roy and guide Dr. Rajkumar Majumdar, he recently graduated with a Ph.D. in Digital Technology and the Creative Exploration of Indian Contemporary Art from Assam University. He further shares that he makes an effort to stay active in this area and plans art exhibitions.
Speaking about digital art, Dr. Baharul claims that these days, digital artworks can be found in every industry. Thereby students at his university are being taught how to use different software, such as CorelDRAW, Adobe Photoshop, and 3D Max. The goal of his teaching is to provide his students with the skills necessary to succeed in any career path they choose, be it painting, sculpture, catalog design, or anything else.
Dr. Baharul claims that he has never made any major mistakes in his life. He asserts he is a multi-field worker who thinks that no job is too small and that success can be attained with consistent efforts. He acknowledges that he may have made a few small mistakes at work, but he moved on from them and learned from them.
Speaking of his accomplishments, Dr. Baharul states that earning a Ph.D. was one because it enabled him to broaden his knowledge. His thesis took him five years to complete. This is an accomplishment for him because he had never considered finishing a graduate-level degree.
Dr. Baharul claims that his brother is his role model when asked about role models. He admits that his brother served as an inspiration for him when he first began his artistic career. Furthermore, he won numerous awards in a number of art competitions while attending art school. He adds that friends and his father have also been integral to his successful journey.
When asked about his hobbies, Dr. Baharul says, in his free time, he enjoys playing table tennis and badminton, listening to old music, and traveling, especially to his native village.
Dr. Baharul finds that sitting quietly or visiting peaceful places and engaging in relaxing activities like fishing help him cope with stress.
According to Dr. Baharul, there are plenty of options for young people who want to work in this field to pursue careers in digital art. Contemporary technological advancements even allow artists to display their work virtually without traveling from one location to another. Dr. Baharul claims that in addition to painting, he also specializes in business design, including logo, board, and catalog creation.
