Dr. Anuj Sharma is a periodontist and oral implantologist from Ranchi. He received international recognition for publishing his research solution articles in the American Journal of Periodontology. Despite facing challenges growing up, his dedication led to significant achievements in his field.

Dr. Anuj Sharma is a periodontist and oral implantologist based in Ranchi. He is known for innovating drugs and introducing new techniques for gum treatment. Born in Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Sharma completed his BDS at Manipal University and his postgraduate degree at the Government Dental College and Research Institute in Bangalore. As the first member of his family to enter the medical profession, his family's support has been a significant source of inspiration for him.

Dr. Sharma shares that when he joined his PG course, from the third day itself, he started working on his research project. He started connecting with his seniors and alumni to gather information on the project, and within 6 months, he was able to execute his research and was also recognized for the same internationally. By the end of the first year of his PG, he was able to publish 2-3 articles in the American Journal of Periodontology, which is also a major achievement for him. Recalling that opportunity, he feels very proud to have grabbed the right opportunity at the right time.

Growing up in a small city with limited resources, Dr. Anuj faced many challenges. After completing his 12th grade, he moved to a metro city, where he learned that becoming a doctor required both experience and clearing entrance exams. He cleared the entrance test and started pursuing a BDS degree at Manipal University.

After completing his BDS degree, Dr. Sharma began preparing for the postgraduate entrance exam. With only 98 seats available in government dental colleges across India, he managed to secure a spot through his grit and determination.

Cracking the postgraduate entrance exam, which had 10,000 to 20,000 applicants vying for only 98 seats, was a major achievement for Dr. Anuj. He secured a seat at the Government Dental College in Bangalore, where he focused on researching innovations in gum surgeries. His work led to the development of new drugs and techniques, and his research articles were accepted and published by American journals at an early stage.

When asked about his role models, Dr. Anuj says his parents are his first role models. His next role model is Sachin Tendulkar, whose consistency has inspired him to adopt the same consistency in his daily life. In his professional life, Dr. A. R. Pradeep, a renowned periodontist, is his role model.

For the aspirants in the field of dentistry, Dr. Anuj advises them to make innovations, introduce new technologies, and work with sincerity and dedication. For one and all, Dr. Anuj says whenever we have an opportunity waiting, we should grab it immediately.

Dr. Anuj says he likes indoor and outdoor games in his free time. He also likes to listen to music and spend time with his family and friends.

Sharing his COVID experiences, Dr. Anuj mentions that he took a lot of precautions to protect his patients and his family during the pandemic. Dr. Anuj feels satisfied that he was able to treat his patients during such a tough time. He still believes in taking those precautions for the well-being of his family.
