A paediatrician practicing for over two decades, Dr. Anshu Mathur pursued his passion for medicine despite challenges, inspired by his family and personal experiences. His greatest achievement is becoming a doctor and finding fulfilment in helping others. He believes that following one’s passion with dedication is the key to happiness.

Dr. Anshu Mathur is a paediatrician, currently practicing at the Government Community Health Centre in Jaipur. With a career spanning over twenty-three years, he has dedicated the last seventeen years to serving as a paediatrician in Jaipur.

His career began with a strong foundation in education, completing his secondary schooling at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Vidyashram and higher secondary at Maheshwari Public School, both in Jaipur. Anshu went on to earn his MBBS from the prestigious Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, followed by his post-graduation in Jodhpur.

Dr. Mathur initially worked with KMS Hospital in Jaipur before joining the Government Community Health Centre, where he continues to provide healthcare services. He reflects that becoming a doctor was his lifelong passion, and he pursued it with unwavering determination, transforming his dream into his profession.

Dr. Anshu proudly states that becoming a doctor is his greatest achievement. He recalls how some friends discouraged him from entering the demanding field of medicine, but his steadfast commitment and persistence prevailed. For Dr. Anshu, the ultimate reward is seeing the joy and relief on his patients' faces after successful treatments, which brings him immense satisfaction and fulfilment.

Dr. Anshu recalls his time during graduation at Manipal as a period of personal growth, where exposure to new experiences and the support of friends and colleagues helped shape his confidence and personality. His time in both medical school and postgraduate studies proved transformative, providing him with the skills and character needed to succeed as a doctor.

When it comes to role models, Dr. Mathur names his maternal uncle and elder brother, both of whom are in the medical field. He admires their shared dedication to healing people rather than prioritising financial gain. Their passion, honesty, and service-oriented mindset greatly influenced his decision to follow in their footsteps and commit to serving society through medicine.

Reflecting on his childhood, Dr. Anshu Mathur shares that he grew up in a household where his father had a transferable job, but his family, including his mother, sister, and grandparents, stayed in Jaipur for educational reasons. He speaks fondly of the close bond he shared with his grandparents and cousins, while his father would visit during vacations, creating cherished family moments. Dr. Anshu was particularly moved by witnessing his grandmother's struggle with diabetes, which became a pivotal motivation for him to pursue a career in medicine to help others.

Discussing the mistakes he's made, Dr. Mathur admits that, in his younger years, he struggled with anger management, which sometimes led to him hurting himself or others, including his sister. His quick temper also cost him some friendships. However, he emphasises that, as he matured, he learnt valuable lessons from his mistakes and worked to transform himself into a more patient and understanding person.

To manage stress, Dr. Mathur prefers to disconnect from his surroundings, often seeking solace in soft music or taking a peaceful long drive alone. These practices help him clear his mind and restore balance.

Sharing his philosophy, he firmly believes in the power of manifesting one’s passion and pursuing it with dedication. For him, this is the true secret to happiness, and it continues to guide his life and career.
