Trained in the Tabla by renowned musicians like Pandit Birju Maharaj, Dr. Ankit has achieved significant milestones, including getting a Gold Medal from Ustad Zakir Hussain. With a passion for teaching music, he, along with his wife and sister-in-law, has been teaching students for over a decade.

Dr. Ankit Pareek's musical journey, rooted in family heritage, began under the guidance of his mother, a composer of divine anthems, and his grandfather, a renowned musician.

Learning to play the Dholak at a tender age, he made his television debut in Nanhi Duniya at  four years of age and later mastered the Tabla under Pandit Birju Maharaj and Shri Govind Chakraborty.

Dr. Ankit shares a turning point that came in his life when his brother-in-law, a Kathak artist, captivated by Dr. Ankit's rhythmic prowess on the dholak, urged him to learn from the illustrious Pandit Girdhari Maharaj. Thus, a new chapter in his musical journey unfolded.

Hailing from the quaint town of Jobner in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Dr. Ankit is not just a classical instrument virtuoso but also the co-founder of Bhav Sur Taal Academy. This musical haven has been nurturing aspiring talents for over a decade, led by Dr. Ankit, his wife, and sister-in-law, who are a harmonious trio of voice, instrument, and dance.

Speaking about his accomplishments, Dr. Ankit states that he won a music competition in Pune, where the judges gave him a standing ovation. Due to this  achievement, he received a national scholarship of Rs 1.20 lakhs for learning the Tabla. He was one of the two Rajasthani scholars chosen for a Ph.D. program. His greatest accomplishment so far is receiving his MA Gold medal and blessings from Ustad Zakir Hussain.

Regarding his education, he states that he has done a Ph.D. in Sitar from Rajasthan University, an MA also in Sitar from Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh with a gold medal, and a BPA in Music.

When asked about his life's motto, Dr. Ankit says he believes in the philosophy of good deeds leading to success and he always walks on the spiritual path to God. Guided by the teachings of Pandit Girdhari Maharaj, he places utmost importance on honoring parents and seeking their blessings.

Bhav Sur Taal Academy's success stories are a testament to Dr. Ankit's dedication. Students have not only secured government jobs but have also shined on platforms like India's Got Talent. Dr. Ankit, extending a helping hand, also provides financial assistance to underprivileged music enthusiasts.

During the Covid pandemic, Dr. Ankit discovered the worth of digital tools such as Zoom and Google Duo, which revolutionized his approach to teaching.

Many international students expressed a desire to be exclusively guided by him, seizing the opportunity that COVID-19 unexpectedly presented. They suggested leveraging these digital tools to elevate the classroom experience. Presently, Dr. Ankit dedicates ten to twelve hours each day to virtually educate eager young minds.

Dr. Ankit reflects on how the pandemic reshaped music education, from exchanging PDFs instead of traditional notes to the impact on his practice sessions (Riyaz). Offering advice to budding musicians, he emphasizes the critical role of choosing a guru wisely. Beyond imparting music knowledge, Dr. Ankit aims to raise awareness among parents about music's transformative potential for their children, envisioning a world where music becomes a wellspring of inspiration and transformation.

Dr. Ankit thinks it's a great idea for kids to start learning music basics early. Once they finish college, he suggests they could become music teachers, work in hotels, or even go into coaching.
