With her comradeship, discipline, leadership and secular outlook, Anita emerged as the first lady NCC officer of Udaipur and mentors NCC cadets on how to achieve success.

Dr Captain Anita Rathore is a Research Officer, NCC, Department of Geography at Bhupal Nobles P. G. Girls’ College.

She has 50 cadets taking training under her who have performed at both the national and international level. Anita also takes classes of students enrolled in MBA and MA programs. She is also associated with various organisations like Aakashvani, Blind schools and Blood Banks and with group marriage events.

Anita was born in Bhilwara and later shifted to Udaipur, and completed her MA from BN College in 1997. Anita also participated in the Rajpath parade back in the 90s. She recollects her childhood memories and pleasant moments she spent with her friends and family. Anita has also been a President of the Students Union back in her college days and has inculcated  leadership qualities in her since then. After completing her college, Anita applied for NCC vacancy at BN College and later got direct commission, emerging as the first lady NCC officer of Udaipur.

Currently an Associate NCC Officer, Anita says that being part of NCC incorporates discipline, unity and confidence in students. She adds that one also learns about the various cultures through Youth Exchange programs. Participating in activities like Parasailing, Shooting and Debate competitions, Dance, Speech and games leads to overall development of the students, says Anita.

Talking about COVID days, Anita says that she had to maintain a balance between her family, academics and NCC during those times. She and her NCC cadets also provided access to oxygen cylinders, food to the needy and conducted seminars for awareness and positivity.

Anita executes her leadership qualities by providing targets to her cadets and monitoring their on-ground activities, and evaluating their performances. She urges all parents to motivate their children to participate in NCC and contribute to society and development of the nation.

Anita urges the youth to have faith in themselves, take no shortcuts and work upon their knowledge.
