Dr. Anila, an Assistant Professor of law at Manikya Lal Verma Shramjeevi College, Udaipur, has been dedicated to her profession as an educator for the past fourteen years.
Dr. Anila says that she started her teaching career at Mohanlal Sukhadia University in Udaipur.
Reflecting on her childhood, Dr. Anila reminisces about her birthplace in Kithana village, Jhunjhunu district, where she completed her primary education and enjoyed playing in the rain. She fondly remembers her time at the primary school in Kithana, especially the sports activities.
Dr. Anila ventured into the field of law in 2007 after completing her Ph.D., which led her to Udaipur. Initially, transitioning into teaching LLB students posed challenges due to the age difference, but the students were cooperative. Dealing with students from tribal areas who had different levels of understanding presented additional challenges for her.
Regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Anila enjoyed completing pending work but later grew bored due to the long days. She received a notice from the college to start online classes, which initially posed difficulties, but she adapted and taught the students effectively. During the lockdown, she utilized her time to enhance her professional life through participation in online workshops for teachers from Delhi University, leading to personal and professional growth.
To pursue a career as a professor in law, one must complete LLB and LLM and qualify for the NET examination for admission to a Ph.D. program, says Dr. Anila. She also believes that studying law offers various opportunities beyond teaching, including independent practice or working with government organizations.
Her role models include Dr. RR Sharma, her Ph.D. guide, who possesses extensive knowledge and experience in academics, and her husband, an associate professor of law at MLSU, who constantly motivates her.
If given the chance, Dr. Anila would love to relive her college days.
When it comes to leadership, she believes being a strict leader is not effective; instead, being friendly and fostering understanding among team members is crucial.
While Dr. Anila enjoys teaching, she has developed a keen interest in research work, aspiring for research that benefits society and students. She emphasizes the importance of dedication and hard work in any field.
