Dr. Anant Prakash Gupta is a Professor in the Department of Pathology and Microbiology at Rajasthan Vidyapeeth Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Udaipur.
Dr. Anant shares that besides teaching, he also practices in his own clinic. He also likes to write books, and is going to launch the 13th edition of his book on Homeopathy. He expresses his happiness to see homeopathy gaining prominence in recent years. He goes on to add that in homeopathy, they can even cure patients with diseases that are declared incurable by other sciences and especially children and women may find homeopathic treatment more effective and comfortable.
Dr. Anant states that he got inspiration to become a homeopathic doctor from his father, who used to narrate to him the story of how his grandmother got completely cured with homeopathic treatment. His brother, too, was a pathologist, who encouraged him to pursue homeopathy.
He did a four and a half-year course in DHMS and has been practicing since 1985. He has also been teaching since 1991. He also completed his Masters in Microbiology at the age of 54 and is currently pursuing his PhD in Microbiology from PIMS. He aspires to incorporate his knowledge of pathology and microbiology. However, he regrets that most of the brilliant students do not wish to pursue homeopathy and run behind MBBS.
When asked about his role models, Dr. Anant cites his father as an inspiration. His father is a teacher and used to push Anant to do well in his studies. His older brother also has an influence on him as well. Reading the biographies of notable individuals and personalities like Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and Lal Bahadur Shastri inspires him too.
Mentioning a few of his achievements, Dr. Anant discloses that he has translated many medical books, including books on Anatomy and Physiology, from English to Hindi to help the students who come from Hindi-medium schools. His books are included in the syllabus of many colleges, and he feels proud to have contributed towards helping students.
Anant’s motivational quote is “Miles to go before I sleep” by Robert Frost.
To all the youngsters, Dr. Anant advises them to be persistent, sincere, punctual, and have perseverance to become homeopathic doctors.
