Not losing your calm during tough times in life will help you deal with them better.
Dr. Akhilesh Mishra has been working in the field of wildlife conservation for the past twenty years. He primarily works for tiger conservation.
Akhilesh was born and raised in Delhi.
Recalling his childhood, Akhilesh says that he was raised in a Hindu family with Hindu rituals and customs as the bedrock. From the beginning, he was taught to be empathetic toward animals and other creatures in nature. And he has carried on those values to this date, he says.
Akhilesh shares that he worked as a veterinarian for about ten years in the private sector before taking to his passion for wildlife. He passed the PCS examination of MPPSC and opted for the forest division as his choice of service. He says, for the past ten years, he has been working in the Pench National Park, also known as Mowgli land.
Akhilesh shares that in the past two decades of his job, he has done more than two hundred tiger operations: capturing, radio collaring, transporting, rescuing tigers, etc. He says that he is into wildlife intrinsic management, wildlife introduction, managing man-animal conflict, etc.
Talking about his achievements, Akhilesh says that being able to make people around him happy is an achievement for him.
Akhilesh tells people that the conservation of forests is really required and it’s an age-old practice that has been continuing since the time of our predecessors.
When asked about his role models, Akhilesh says that he considers his mother and his school teachers as his mentors.
Akhilesh advises people to do things with patience as he thinks that doing things patiently helps them plan better.
In his spare time, Akhilesh likes to perform yoga. Besides, he also likes to read books on veterinary science. Furthemore, he likes to help people in his free time.
