A Conservative Dentistry expert, Dr. Afzal provides a wide range of treatments, including root canal treatment, cosmetic work, and more. He teaches Endodontics in a college and believes that there is a wide scope in the field of dentistry.

Dr. Afzal Ali is an Associate Professor in the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at Pacific Dental College and Hospital, Debari, Udaipur. He has been handling clinical cases and guiding undergraduate and postgraduate students of the college for the past eight years.

Dr. Ali explains that his department treats patients for root canals and resolves issues with pain and swelling. There are many different treatment options available, such as root canal therapy, tooth preservation, conservative dental management, dental fillings, cosmetic treatments, laminates, veneers, teeth whitening, bleaching, and more.

Dr. Afzal says that it was his father who encouraged him to pursue a career in dentistry. As everyone was after a medical seat, his father explained to him that nothing is high or low and that we can all succeed in our fields, even dentistry.

Dr. Afzal states that Udaipur is a tribal belt with several dentistry institutes. However, since the Pacific Dental College is situated on a highway, students travelling from the border regions of MP, Chittorgarh, and Bhilwara find it simpler to get there.

Pacific Dental College offers a broad variety of treatments, including root canal therapy, fixed and removable partial dentures, cleaning, whitening, delivering a complete denture, full mouth rehabilitation, and aesthetic work. The college also has a high inflow of  patients.

He adds that although there is a lot to be learned in the field of dentistry, the calibre of education has declined due to the extraordinary growth of dental institutions. You can advance in this field if you work honestly, put in good effort, and complete an extern-ship or internship at a reputable institution. Post-graduation is required for those who wish to work in or study about a certain specialisation. In addition, you can start your own clinic, which would offer you a respectable living. You may pick up additional skills by enrolling in short-term courses.

Dr. Ali shares that he was born and raised in Jodhpur, where he did his schooling. His early education was at a neighbouring school, followed by studying at Oxford Public School and Maheshwari Senior Secondary School. Throughout his tenure there, he had been the top performer.

He thereafter relocated to Kota for coaching, after which he got admission  into the Government Dental College and Research Institute in Bangalore, Karnataka. He performed admirably there as well, and after that, he finished his master’s degree at P.M.N.M. Dental College in Bagalkot, Karnataka. He has been employed with Pacific College since 2015, and teaches Endodontics which is his primary area of expertise. He has been researching Guided Endodontics through a variety of publications, including scientific journals and case reports.

In terms of role models, Dr. Ali says that ‘Rang De Basanti’ is his favourite movie and that all independence warriors are his role models.

The phrase "Work hard and everything will come behind you later on" inspires him, and he heeds it.

Regarding his accomplishments, Dr. Afzal states that being able to ease people's agony is a gift from God. He is trusted by his patients, who come to him by name. People seek him as he manages complex dental situations well.

He counsels the incoming candidates to acquire the necessary skills and to be enthusiastic about practising dentistry. Dentistry is both an art and a science, thus anyone interested in the discipline should try to be adept at both.
