Acceptance of failure is a must to move ahead in life.
Dr Abhishika has been in the teaching line for the past ten years. She is a PhD in Facebook Advertising and is an Assistant Professor at the IIS University, Jaipur. She hails from Rajasthan, but as soon as she was born, her parents shifted to Orissa. Dr Abhishika did her schooling and Master in Journalism from Orissa itself.
Belonging to a middle-class background, her parents were always concerned about her security, as she says, and never allowed her to move out. After she completed her graduation, they all came to Rajasthan and there, she kept a foundation stone to her career with the help of a relative. Her professional journey began as a Public Relations professional at an engineering college in 2007. It was also the time when she got married. Thus, things started falling into place.
Gradually, Dr Abhishika revealed her interest was in teaching and started with teaching Advertising to MBA students in a college. She worked there for two years before resigning to join a management institute. She then did MBA and M.Com. Then, she took a break for two and a half years for her newborn baby. Later, she joined the college and pursued PhD. as well. Things weren’t easy for her, but she wanted to learn something, which gave her motivation and new paths to follow.
Dr Abhishika likes to learn and upgrade herself with the upcoming technologies. She feels that keeping the options open and experimenting with the new is a sure shot success mantra. For example, during corona, teaching was shifted from offline to online, and things were made achievable.
“Failures teach us a lot”, she exclaims. It was during her husband’s failure in his business due to his business partner’s faults, she and her husband tasted failures very closely. But those tough times paved the way for further opportunities. She believes that to achieve something good, failures need to be accepted.
Her father and the harsh struggles she underwent are her inspiration and her father is her forever role model. She is inspired by her father’s struggle to sustain, build, and maintain a status in society. Her parents are her guiding force and idols.
According to Dr Abhishika, the current and future generations have better technologies, concepts, and opportunities. She feels that the information-age future of the nation is bright. There is lots of information, but only their utilisation needs to be efficient, and the right information needs to be used at the right time.
She plays badminton, goes for outings, and tries new cooking experiments for her daughter when she gets some time off. Moreover, she is a professional reiki healer and makes time for her meditations for inner peace.
Dr Abhishika advises being a good observant and having the habit of reading to upgrade your knowledge and keep up with the upcoming technological trends.
If she gets a time machine to go back in the past she would like to upgrade her college education and utilise the information and technology better.
