Dr. Abhishek is currently completing his post graduation at Pacific Dental College, Udaipur in the department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery.

Abhishek was born and brought up in Mumbai. He completed his schooling in Mumbai itself. After that he appeared in the NEET- UG exam and did his graduation from NIMS University, Jaipur. Then he appeared in the NEET- PG exam and took admission in Pacific Dental College, Udaipur for his post graduation.

Though Abhishek wanted to pursue MBBS, he had to study BDS as his rank in the entrance exam was not that good. Talking about his childhood memories, he says that he would play cricket with his friends and enjoy his time. He says that his childhood was different from that of today’s kids who are mostly occupied with computers and gadgets only.

Abhishek advises that if you want to pursue Dentistry, then you can pursue it as it’s also an equally good profession as Medicine. And you can also pursue your post graduation in Oral Surgery as it is an integrated field of Medicine and Dentistry and has a good scope.

Growing up, Abhishek always considered his father as his role model. He says that his father worked really hard to manage their family. Besides, he also considers his elder brother who is a surgeon as his role model.

Abhishek believes that nobody is a born leader. He says that your circumstances and responsibilities make you a leader.

Abhishek thinks that education and experience in life are equally important. He says that education gives you knowledge, but experience teaches you how to tackle things. Furthermore, he says that in the field of dentistry one learns how to deal with and treat patients with experience only.

Abhishek says that if the government provides insurance to people for their dental treatments too, then people will be more aware about the dental diseases and seek treatments accordingly.

Abhishek shares that people in rural areas don’t take their dental problems seriously and they visit hospitals only when it becomes really serious. So he feels that there’s a need to educate people in rural areas about the oral and dental diseases and advise them to take treatments in time.

During his free time, Abhishek likes to play and go on trips with his seniors and spend time with them.

If he could go back in time, then Abhishek would want to relive his childhood and enjoy it more.

During the Covid pandemic, Abhishek got to spend time with his family after a long time. But after some time, he started to fear what would happen to his career and how would he maintain his expenses as he was not able to treat the patients owing to the pandemic. His family also started to face some financial problems, but they all supported each other in this tough time and survived it.

In the future, Abhishek wants to see himself as an established Oral Surgeon in Mumbai city.

Abhishek believes that after your family, your friends are the most important part of your life. You can learn a lot from your friends. Besides, you can share something with your friends, which you can’t with your family and it creates a good bonding with them.

His favorite quote is, “ Set a goal which makes you jump out of your bed everyday.” Abhishek advises people to set a goal in life which compels you to wake up everyday in the morning.
