She further honed her skills by undergoing training in event management with a company based in Bhopal. Thereafter, she transitioned into her career in education.
Dr. Sharma highlights that events are a significant aspect of the education sector as well, as they naturally attract students. Events play a vital role in the overall personality grooming of students. Various types of events, whether academic, cultural, or sports-related, contribute immensely to the enrichment and holistic development of students. Recognizing this, she chose to integrate her passion for events into her role as an educator, ensuring that students benefit from these experiences.
Dr. Aarti Sharma hails from Bhopal, where she grew up immersed in the city's rich culture and heritage. She completed her schooling and college education in Bhopal before moving to Indore to pursue her Ph.D.
From a young age, Dr. Aarti had a deep passion for art, particularly drawing and painting. Recognizing her interest, her father gifted her a small camera, sparking in her a fascination for photography. She began capturing moments and, over time, saved enough to purchase her own camera. With it, she explored and documented the beauty of nature, birds, animals, and the emotions of her surroundings. This hobby not only brought her immense joy but also provided her with valuable experiences and a creative outlet to connect with the world around her.
As a student, Dr. Aarti was an active member of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and is a proud holder of A, B, and C certificates. She participated in numerous national camps and had the honor of representing Madhya Pradesh to NCC events in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. These experiences were pivotal in shaping her journey, as they instilled in her valuable leadership skills that continue to influence her career.
Before joining SAGE University, Dr. Aarti worked as a corporate trainer, specializing in areas such as customer handling, conflict resolution, and team training. This role allowed her to develop strong expertise in soft skills, which she considers one of her core strengths. Her ability to connect with students on a personal level stems from this background and makes her particularly attuned to their concerns.
At SAGE University, Dr. Aarti shares a remarkable rapport with her students, aligning with the university's "Students First" policy, which emphasizes prioritizing student needs. She believes this connection between students and educators is fundamental to fostering an environment where students feel valued and supported in their academic and personal growth.
Dr. Aarti Sharma's role model is her mother, who is also a teacher. Growing up, she observed her mother closely and drew inspiration from the way she navigated life with resilience and grace. From her mother, she learned how to move forward even in challenging circumstances, how to turn difficulties into opportunities, and the importance of walking together with society. It was her mother who instilled in her the core values of a teacher and the essence of leading by example.
Dr. Aarti also deeply admires Engineer Sanjeev Agarwal, the University Chancellor, whom she regards as her guru. She is inspired by his positivity, strength, and visionary ideas, which have always motivated her to hold him in the highest regard. His leadership and guidance have been instrumental in shaping her professional journey, and she credits him for inspiring her to strive for excellence.
The main motto of Dr. Sharma’s life is encapsulated in the verse:
“कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन”,
(You have the right to perform your duties, but not to the fruits of your actions).
She firmly believes that one should focus on their work without worrying about the results. According to her, progress is only possible when we walk steadfastly on the path of duty without being burdened by expectations or the outcomes. "Never worry about results or hold expectations from anyone. Always stay happy and give your 100%—that’s my ideology," she emphasizes.
In conclusion, Dr. Sharma extends a heartfelt invitation to all aspiring students. She says, at SAGE University, “We treat you not just as students but as our mentees, and even like our own children. We work tirelessly for your holistic development, ensuring you grow and groom into the best version of yourself. We invite you to join hands with us and soar high to excel in your journey. Our role is to give and guide; your role is to grasp and grow. Together, let’s build a mutually enriching relationship that empowers you to achieve greatness.”
Dr. Aarti Sharma often discusses the concept of the universe in her classes, emphasizing the flow of energies within it. She explains that there are two types of energies: positive and negative, and what you give to the universe is ultimately what you receive in return. Her personal suggestion to students is to always speak positively and emit positivity into the universe, as it will come back to them manifold.
She advises the students to focus on their learning and gaining phase, especially during their college years, as this period is critical for acquiring knowledge and skills. "If students consistently dedicate themselves to learning and gaining knowledge," she says, "they will undoubtedly excel in their professional lives." Dr. Sharma encourages students to embrace this phase wholeheartedly, as it lays the foundation for future success.
