Diya Dasgupta is an Education Mentor at Insight IAS, Kolkata. She plays a number of roles like preparing for IAS, as a Legal Research Consultant, and working with the project of the Government of Karnataka with Women and Child Development.
Diya lives in Kolkata. Her mother is a teacher and her father is a doctor. She graduated from the National University of Law, Odisha. She is preparing for the UPSC exam to become an IAS Officer.
Talking about her entry into the field of law, Diya says that in school, she was exposed to debate competitions and also participated in Model United Nations due to which public speaking became essential for her. She learned to keep her point on the table and convince others on a particular issue. Then in tenth class, she decided to pursue law, cleared CLAT and graduated in law.
Regarding role models in her life, Diya says that she considers her father and her mother as her role models. She also considers badminton player Carolina Marin of Spain a role model whose fighting spirit inspires her.
In her free time, Diya plays badminton. She likes to play the Ukulele, a musical instrument. She is also a food and travel blogger.
To the youth, Diya advises them that they should not be desperate to achieve the result that they think they want to achieve. She feels that the moment they internalize that it will become easy to accept life as it comes.
Advising the aspirants to the law field, Diya advises them to enter the law field with the mindset not to become a judge just to receive perks and public servant importance but to see how the law works and provides benefit to society.
