Divya Purbia is a freelance anchor. Besides this, she is also an actor, a news anchor, and a choreographer.
Purbia shares that while pursuing an MBA, she was motivated to try anchoring. Initially, she anchored road shows, product marketing events, and mall promotions. Her success led to offers from numerous companies, and she is now a permanent anchor for Hero Motocorp, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, and more. Additionally, she covers various products, conducts educational programs for pharmaceutical companies, and works as a news anchor. She adapts her speaking style to fit different cultures and languages.
Divya Purbia began her news anchoring journey in 2014 with her first audition, leading to a role at Channel 91 where she worked on bulletins. She learned to write scripts, face the camera, and manage voice modulation. After COVID, she started creating her own programs on ATN channel, focusing on religious thought in Hindi and Sanskrit, which was challenging but successful, earning media attention. Currently, she works as a news anchor at Alert Rajasthan and dreams of becoming a national news anchor.
Divya Purbia was born and brought up in Udaipur. She did her schooling at St. Teresa Senior Secondary School. She earned an MBA in HRM from Pacific University in 2012 and has also taken a course in mass communication.
Purbia shares that dance became her passion at just three years old. She learned by watching TV and participating in school programs, and she also studied folk dance at the Lok Kala Mandal. Additionally, she knows Kathak and began doing choreography for wedding events.
When asked about role models in her life, Divya Purbia says that she is a self-inspired person. Her life experiences and go-with-the-flow attitude have taken her to new heights. She learnt a lot from her HR job, which is also helping her in the anchoring field.
Regarding leadership, Purbia says that she is not a born leader. It came to her through her experiences. Her leadership qualities enhanced and emerged in her. She considers herself a born artist.
Drawing a comparison between education and experience, Purbia says that both education and experience are equally important in our lives.
If a time machine is given to her, Purbia would like to go back in time and change her medium of schooling from Hindi to English.
To the anchoring aspirants, Divya Purbia suggests that they should first observe the life journey of well-known anchors. She also advises them to be rich in vocabulary, have all-round knowledge, and have good pronunciation. Also, they should always be active and practical.
In her free time, Purbia likes painting, singing, dancing, drawing, and doing arts and crafts.
Advising the youth, Divya Purbia says that they should always keep doing whatever comes their way. Also, they should be good listeners and good presenters.
