Divya Jain is a teenage martial artist who underwent a drastic change in her personality and confidence by taking up karate and other martial arts. She advises everyone to add some form of physical activity to their daily routine to enrich their persona.

Divya has been taking martial arts classes for the last three years. Initially, she was not a sporty kid, had very low self-esteem and mental strength. Then, martial arts entered her life through her mother’s push and changed Divya.

Sensei Seema, who introduced her to karate, became a life-changing figure for her. She admires her for her boldness, strength, and confidence. Also, she takes her mother as her role model, who supported and motivated her to learn this physical art form for gaining mental and physical strength.

Divya’s most memorable moments include the first day of her martial arts training when she was introduced to the physical and mental pain one needs to endure for being strong. Also, Sensei Seema’s inspirational personality impacted her. Moreover, Divya also liked the first martial arts camp she attended. She loved trekking, exercises, conversations, and night-time campfire activities. She believes that these experiences increased her self-confidence and shaped her personality.

Divya feels that learning any form of martial arts is very important irrespective of one’s gender. It builds confidence, boldness, strength, stamina, and an influential personality. Along with physical, verbal defence is also crucial, which develops with mental strength.

Divya recalls her first day at the academy as a challenging day for her. It was the first time she understood the pains one needs to undergo physically and mentally to learn a sport. Moreover, facing the stereotyped comments and society’s views on learning a physical sport being a girl, was another challenge that she is still overcoming. However, Divya wants to continue with martial arts throughout her life and also become an interior designer. She wants to balance both and achieve success in life.

During the pandemic, Divya spent time with her family and did drawings. She missed school and her Sensei classes too. She advises strong determination for anyone who wants to join martial arts. She assures that martial arts develop mental strength, physical fitness, personality grooming, and confidence-building.

Divya is quite sensible and mature for her age and likes historical and patriotic films and cheerful songs. She wants to relive her childhood days to mingle and enjoy more with her friends.
