A retired Lecturer and Writer, Dinesh has won many recognitions in the field of poetry and aims to attract the youth to the field of writing.

Dinesh Vijayvergiya is a Writer and retired Lecturer from the School Education Department of Rajasthan.

Dinesh was born in Kota in 1943 and thereafter shifted to Bundi in 1955. He says that he did his education and job, and even took retirement in Bundi itself. He was very much fond of reading and writing. Therefore, after his retirement, he started writing poems and stories in the year 1970. Thereafter, he met one of his friends Dr. Bheru Lal Garg, and after that started writing for kids as well.

Recalling his childhood memories, Dinesh says that he spent his childhood like any other kid in a middle-class family. He says that he did his primary education in the village and then went to Bundi City and then to Kota for further education. Also, he spent his childhood playing lots of outdoor games, says Dinesh. He did his BA and MA in Political Science and joined his service as a third-grade teacher.

Sharing about his poetic journey, Dinesh says that he wrote his first poem in 1968 taking inspiration from the Naval Sagar Jheel and that is where his journey as a poet began. He wrote his second poem taking inspiration from the Prime Minister who went fishing and the poem got published in the Rajasthan Patrika. Thereafter, he started writing stories but for some reason stopped writing for some time. However, he again started writing and has written many poems and stories in the last five years.

Talking about his achievements, Dinesh says that he received an award from Rajasthan Sahitya Academy for children’s stories and also got the best teacher award on Teacher’s Day. He also received a Senior Citizen Honor in Jaipur and received a cash prize of Rs 21000 and other honors in an event organized by Rajasthan Patrika. Also, he got his first poetry collection published named “Shabdon ki Srajan Yatra '' which was inaugurated by the district collector.

Regarding mistakes, Dinesh says that mistakes are a part of human nature. The mistake Dinesh made was that he did not do MA in Hindi after his retirement, which he regrets. Also, he wanted to learn car driving which he could not, and regrets not learning that.

Talking about his role models, Dinesh says that he does not have any role models and believes in following his own instincts.

When asked how he deals with stress and anger, Dinesh says that in such situations, it is better that either we leave that place or keep silent so that the mind becomes calm.

Dinesh says that he aims to attract youngsters to the field of writing. He explains this by giving an example of a time when he was in Hindoli where he used to teach 75 students. He once gave a topic to the students for writing just to identify their interest and filtered out the best ten and honored the students with mementos. Further, he did other activities to attract children towards writing. Dinesh says that if teachers inspire children in the right direction, then children also try to move forward and a positive attitude develops in them.

Dinesh says his life mantra is that a person should make appropriate use of time because time once gone by will never come back. Therefore, a person should understand the value of time and use it with positivity.
