Dinesh Soni is an Instagram influencer who runs his page under the name ‘Indian Temples Research & Media Services’. He also connects with his audience through YouTube and Spotify. Dinesh has also started an e-magazine in the name of ‘The Heritage Times.’
Talking about his journey as an influencer, Dinesh shares that he started his Instagram page in 2019. His inspiration to become an influencer dates back to his childhood, when he loved travelling and his father used to take him on pilgrimage visits. Dinesh often felt fascinated by our traditional art and sculpture and used to go trekking during his graduation days. All these factors inspired him to start educating himself and the people around him on the culture and heritage of India.
Recalling his childhood, Dinesh shares that he grew up in a Marwari business-oriented family. He spent his childhood days in Latur, Maharashtra, where he also completed his schooling. Thereafter, Dinesh moved to Pune to pursue his engineering. Pursuing his interest in psychology, Dinesh also completed a diploma course in human psychology. He also has a Masters in Human Resources Management from Mumbai.
Delving into his professional journey, Dinesh says that his career revolved mostly around academia as the HOD of the MIT College of Science and Computer Studies. He served as a visiting faculty member at more than six institutes. Dinesh was also a part of the corporate world as an HR manager and HR executive. He currently owns a procurement-based business in Latur and continues with his social media engagements as a hobby. Dinesh is also involved in cultural research projects to learn more about India’s heritage sites.
Describing his achievements, Dinesh says he has written more than 16 books on subjects like Human Psychology and Mythology. His Instagram page has garnered one lakh followers in a period of three years. Dinesh was awarded the Lokmat Digital Influencer Award in the Heritage category. He has also been featured in the list of 40 under 40 industry experts. Dinesh was also felicitated by Taipei University, Taiwan, and has earned over fifty awards so far.
When asked about his mistakes, Dinesh laments not understanding his hobbies and interest areas well in time. He says that he kept running behind carving a successful career path without working on his personal interests. It was only when he turned 30 that he realised that his interests lay elsewhere. On that note, Dinesh advises youngsters to first identify their interest areas and strive to make a career in them.
Talking about his role models, Dinesh says his parents are his biggest inspiration, who gave him the liberty to choose his own path and the boost to tackle his own failures in life. He also considers his friends and teachers his role models.
When under stress, Dinesh likes to travel to attain some mental peace. In the event he is not able to travel, Dinesh just thinks about one of the temples he has visited in the past, which also gives him peace.
