A professional journalist, Dinesh, inspired by his father’s work, wanted to do something for the welfare of society and is continuously working to motivate and inspire people with his work.

Dinesh Gothwal is a journalist and PR Professional and a member of the Reporters Association in Udaipur.

Dinesh says that he started his career in journalism with the Jan Nayak newspaper, but soon became a freelancer. It has been thirty three years since he started doing journalism.

Recalling his childhood, Dinesh says that he completed his schooling at Vidya Niketan School. He graduated from Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University. His journalism guru is his father, who himself did journalism for forty five years. Dinesh always wanted to follow his father’s footsteps. When he was young, he used to write news articles and would request his father to check them every day.

Dinesh feels elated to have completed thirty three years in journalism. He says that he is currently working in Udaipur as a PR professional. He has been associated with the Rotary Club of Udaipur since 1995. He is associated with many other social institutions and covers their programmes. He feels that knowing about their programmes inspires others to do the same. He believes in making use of his knowledge for the welfare of our society.

Dinesh says that because of the challenges and tremendous pressures that are associated with journalism, it has become difficult for newcomers to work in this field. He feels that despite the trend towards electronic media, newspapers will never lose their value, even in the next twenty five years. He believes that education supplements one's life experiences.

Dinesh says he earned respect with his honesty. He is a fun-loving person who likes to spread happiness.

Dinesh says that if he could go back in time, he would choose journalism every time, and he wants to work like his father. He never sets goals for himself and is content with his life.

To all those who want to enter journalism, he advises them to maintain good relationships with clients as well as with newspaper publications. To attain success in journalism, one should be honest and passionate about their work. He says that although a degree is not that important in this field, one should be on the safe side and pursue degrees such as a bachelors and masters in journalism and mass communication.

Dinesh says that COVID has made us realize that we can easily connect to all parts of the world via digital mode and at the same time give time to our families. Life is all about enjoying the little things without stressing out about the ups and downs, he says.

In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family.
