Care for those who cannot speak for themselves.
Dimple Bhavsar is a compassionate individual from Udaipur and the founder of Udaipur Animal Feed. Along with her brother, she dedicates herself to the welfare of animals, providing them with food and care.
She lives with her parents and a brother. Her father is a tailor, while Dimple pursues her LLB degree as a final-year student.
Dimple says that although she was an average student in school, she always possessed the confidence to make a difference. Her journey began when she contested the class representative election in college, and this ignited her passion for leadership. Two years later, she stood for the position of college president and emerged victorious, becoming the president of Meera Girls College, Udaipur, in 2016.
Dimple says that her main motto was not just to get into politics; she wanted to use politics for the welfare of society. Additionally, she enrolled in an LLB program at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. She again took part in elections but got defeated, yet she learned many things.
During her journey, Dimple faced both victories and defeats. Despite an unsuccessful election, she gained valuable lessons from the experience. She then went to Jaipur to prepare for the Rajasthan Judicial Service Exam (RJS), but returned to Udaipur due to the lockdown. It was during this time that she and her brother felt compelled and started making masks, assisting the police by providing tea, and eventually encountering a weak and hungry dog. This encounter inspired them to start their animal feed initiative.
Dimple says that she started with a simple message on WhatsApp seeking help for stray animals, and their initiative received an overwhelming response. Since then, Dimple, along with her team members, have been working on this project.
Dimple aims to change society's perception by encouraging people to care for street and Indian dogs rather than prioritize expensive breeds. They have initiated a trend of feeding stray animals on birthdays.
Dimple draws inspiration from her father and her brother, considering them her role models. Their constant support and involvement in the animal feed initiative have been instrumental in her journey.
When asked what is more important, education or experience, Dimple emphasizes the importance of gaining experience, as she believes it holds more value than education alone.
Those interested in joining Dimple's cause can connect with her on Instagram (@udaipuranimalfeedindia). The team, currently consisting of 198 members, will contact interested individuals on Sundays. Dimple's initiative welcomes new participants without any cost.
