Having topped in 12th class, Dilip later worked  for over two decades in companies like Bently Nevada, where he was awarded the G-Power Award, and Next Technology India. However, later he sensed a profound urge to embark on a journey of self-realisation, leading him to embrace yoga for a more fulfilling life.

Dilip Kumar Dave has been working in the IT industry since 1999. Besides his professional work, he practises yoga for self-realisation.

After earning his degree in Computer Science from VJTI in Mumbai, Dilip spent four years at Bently Nevada as a Senior Software Engineer, working in the System Programming department. Subsequently, he joined Next Technology India Pvt. Ltd., where he dedicated 17 years to the company, eventually rising to the role of Programming Director.

In 2018, Dilip began learning yoga and also started teaching yoga alongside his professional career. In 2020, despite receiving promotions and multiple project offers, he chose to resign from his job to focus on his self-realisation journey through yoga. During this time, he was approached by a former manager from his previous company with a job offer. He requested flexibility to devote time to meditation and yoga, which was agreed upon. Since then, for the last three years, he has been living life on his own terms.

His daily routine begins with reading yoga-related or self-help books, followed by a 40–50 minute walk. Then, he dedicates an hour to yoga practice and meditation, inclusive of surya namaskar, pranayama, yoga nidra, asanas, and vipassana meditation. Afterward, he focuses on his office work. In the evening, he takes a short walk and practises yoga nidra. He also enjoys reading scriptures like the Bhagavad Gita, and he has already studied the Patanjali Yog Sutra. He is currently delving into the Ashtavakra Gita to deepen his understanding of yoga and the process of self-realisation.

Remembering his childhood, Dilip shares that he was born in a village in Banswara. Later, his family moved to Mumbai, where they lived in a small apartment and owned a milk shop. He would assist his parents in running the shop, often studying there early in the morning while attending to customers. Excelling academically, he attended Podar International School and topped in his class from eighth to tenth grade.

Transitioning from Hindi to English in eleventh grade presented initial challenges, but with his mother's encouragement, he worked on his English skills and excelled. He completed his twelfth standard in the Science stream at Sathaye College. His outstanding academic performance earned him the 27th position during admission in the merit list of Mumbai University, paving the way for his admission to VJTI College into the Computer Science Engineering course. He firmly believes in the mantra that the only failure is the failure to try and persist until he achieves his goals.

Regarding his role models, Dilip says he finds inspiration from various sources in his life. His love for reading, nurtured since childhood, remains a constant source of inspiration for him. He always carries a book with him while travelling. The speeches of Atal Bihari Vajpayee sparked his interest in the poetic world, motivating him to start writing himself. Spiritually, he looks up to Lord Shri Krishna and Buddha, finding guidance in their teachings. He also draws inspiration from the preachings of Osho (Acharya Rajneesh). In his personal life, he admires Kiran Dave, who successfully manages household responsibilities while running the Maitri Yog Studio in Udaipur.

Dilip emphasises the importance of meditation and love for a fulfilling life. His quote, "Dhyan hi dhan hai, to prem jeevan hai'' (Meditation is wealth, and love is life) reflects this belief. He encourages everyone to practise yoga and persevere through life's challenges. He also enjoys writing poetry and recites one of his poems that encourages living in the present moment.

Dilip reflects on the struggles he's faced throughout his life, from his schooling to his professional journey. However, he reframes these challenges as opportunities for dedication and growth. In 2016, facing personal turmoil with his son's illness and soon after his wife leaving him due to a misunderstanding, he found solace in spirituality and yoga. He transformed negativity into positivity, drawing inspiration from his wife's departure to seek a deeper meaning in life and commit himself to yoga practice.

Dilip has achieved significant milestones throughout his academic and professional journey. Topping his 12th standard with an impressive score of 295 out of 300, he secured admission to VJTI, a prestigious college. His stellar performance earned him the G-Power Award at Bently Nevada, leading to a swift promotion to senior software engineer within two years. Additionally, he received recognition for process excellence while working at Next Technology in 2016.

Dilip's commitment to yoga is evident through the certifications he received from the Ministry of Ayush and his Postgraduate Diploma in Yogic Science, where he excelled, topping his level 2 certification. He has also shared his knowledge and expertise through seminars and sessions on yoga, such as Chitta Prasadanam in Kanyakumari Shivir held at the Swami Vivekananda Kendra. He also did a session on ‘pranayama’ and ‘dhyana’ at a Yoga Mahotsav in Udaipur. Despite these accomplishments, he considers his continuous progress towards self-realisation to be his greatest achievement in life.

Offering valuable advice to young individuals, Dilip highlights the significance of self-awareness alongside career success. While achieving professional milestones is crucial, understanding one's true self is equally important. He emphasises the challenge of mastering control over one's thoughts, which surpasses the pursuit of wealth. He encourages setting clear goals within a specific timeframe and cautions against prioritising monetary gains over self-discovery. He recommends incorporating short walks and 10-minute meditation sessions into daily routines for self-reflection and introspection, fostering a more fulfilling life.
