Dhinal had always wanted to do something of his own. After working in a couple of jobs, he eventually started out on his own. Today, with his consulting firm, he helps many people become businessmen by helping them obtain franchises of established brands.

Dhinal Baxi is the founder of a consulting firm named Franchise Insider which is headquartered in Ahmedabad.

Dhinal hails from Ukai, a town in the Tapi district of Gujarat. He completed his schooling till the secondary stage in his hometown itself. Then he completed high school from Vadodara. He completed his B.Sc. from Surat.  He did his MBA from Ganpat University in Gujarat itself.

Talking about his career progression, Dhinal says that after his MBA, he did his first job with ICICI bank in the sales domain. After working in that job for about eleven months, he started feeling stagnant, and hence he took up another job as an NRI banker with a foreign bank in Surat.

Dhinal shares that working as an NRI banker, he would get to meet many NRIs and would get inspired by their life journeys and how they ventured out on their own. In 2007, finally, he quit his job to do something of his own.

Dhinal says that it was not an easy decision to start his own venture. He came from a middle-class family, and everyone in his family was apprehensive of his decision as he had a settled and well-paying job. But, he was determined and confident of getting a job back in the event things did not work out for him as an entrepreneur.

Talking about the challenges he faced in his entrepreneurial journey, Dhinal says that the first business that he started in a partnership was of an NRI service desk. But due to a lack of proper understanding of the business model, he had to shut it down soon. Later, he tried his hand in the real estate sector when one of his NRI clients brought forth a proposal for a real estate project. He accepted the proposal and started working on the project. But the sudden demise of the client left him stranded and it was a major setback for him. However, he did not give up and decided to do something that would complement his existing skill set. Since he was good with numbers and had a good knowledge of various financial instruments, he zeroed in on starting his own consulting firm in the financial sector. Thus, Franchise Insider, a consulting firm came into being.

Dhinal started his consulting from Surat with a couple of people initially and later shifted its headquarters to Ahmedabad. Within a couple of years of its inception, Dhinal was able to scale his firm up manifold both in terms of revenue and presence across different cities.

Reviewing his COVID experience, Dhinal says that everything was going well in his business until the pandemic hit it. He says he faced many losses in his business due to the pandemic. But he did not give up and started marketing his business aggressively on social media to expand its reach. And when things started to normalize, his efforts to market his business started paying off and he added more clients to his business than ever before. Besides, he says that the pandemic taught us the importance of time and our loved ones in our lives.

Dhinal shares that his Success Mantra in his business has always been to be very selective with onboarding clients.

Talking about his achievements, Dhinal says that his firm was recognized as a fast-growing company in 2021 by the Indian Achievers’ Forum.

Sharing his views on education v/s experience, Dhinal says that both education and experience are important in life. He thinks that experience in life is gained by reading books and doing things practically. He advises people to read books based on the life stories of successful individuals to learn from their failures and how they overcame them.

Dhinal believes that nobody is a born leader. He says it’s our life experiences and situations that make us a leader.

Talking about his role models, Dhinal says that Elon Musk, who has set the highest benchmarks for others, is his role model.

Dhinal believes that one needs to have the right mentor if one wants to do something of their own. Therefore, he advises aspiring entrepreneurs to have the right mentor to guide them during their entrepreneurial journeys.

If he could go back in time via a Time Machine, Dhinal would want to relive his childhood as he thinks that childhood is the best period of one’s life. Besides, he would also want to relive his college days going back in time.

Dhinal is a nature lover and in his spare time, he likes to go into nature. Besides, he likes to read books in his free time.
