A passionate youth leader and aspiring politician, Dheerendra Singh has excelled in public speaking and academic achievements. A proud winner of the Youth Parliament of India, Singh exhorts the youth to participate in politics with the aim of  nation-building and to achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Dheerendra Singh hails from the humble village of Kanchanpur in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. With pride, he shares that he comes from a farmer’s family and his father is a farmer, and his roots in agriculture are a core part of his identity. Despite a modest upbringing, Dheerendra has carved an extraordinary path for himself through academic excellence, public speaking, and a deep commitment to national engagement.

After finishing his B.Tech from an institution in Punjab, Dheerendra Singh went on to do an MBA, combining his technical knowledge with management skills. But his life has never been just about education. From school to college, he always had a love for public speaking. Whether it was a debate, a speech, or a competition, he was always ready to take the stage.

His strong voice, clear thoughts, and confidence helped him shine in events across the country. Dheerendra spoke not just to impress, but to bring attention to real issues that matter. His ability to connect with people and speak from the heart took him to some of the best platforms in India. No matter where he went, he carried the values of his village, the strength of his family, driven by a dream to make a difference.

One of the biggest achievements of Dheerendra’s life is winning the Youth Parliament of India Competition. This program, started by the Government of India in 2019, aims to help young people understand politics and the importance of democracy. Out of 75,000 students from across the country, Dheerendra was chosen after he delivered his outstanding speech at Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state in India.

He stood on stage along with 240 other selected students and gave a powerful speech that stood out from the rest. His speech earned him the top rank among all the participants. As one of the final three winners, he got the rare opportunity to speak in the Indian Parliament. For Dheerendra Singh, standing and speaking in that historic hall was not just a proud moment, it was one of the greatest achievements of his life.

He also shares other major milestones of his life. One such moment was being selected as a student leader from Punjab to attend the Chhatra Sansad in Pune, a prestigious Youth Parliament Forum. There, he shared the stage with the former ISRO Chairman and delivered a speech that remains a personal highlight.

He recalls another memorable experience where he managed a public event for Javed Akhtar, one of India’s most respected lyricists and poets. Without using any internet or AI tools, he crafted a heartfelt introduction for him. After listening, Javed Akhtar told him, "You speak and write very well." For Dheerendra, this acknowledgment was priceless, one of the most validating moments in his speaking career.

He remembers the nervous excitement during the announcement of the Youth Parliament winners. Though there was fierce competition among those 240 students, everyone around him including the competitors, said he truly deserved to win. He considers this acceptance from fellow participants more important than any official verdict, because when your competitors say you’re the best, that’s the highest compliment possible.

He shares the special moment of meeting Anurag Singh Thakur, India’s former Sports Minister, who, after hearing him speak, told him he would surely enter politics one day. Such encouragement, Dheerendra says, has fueled his resolve and keeps him moving forward with strength and confidence.

He also represented his university at the national level through the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)—a prestigious platform where students compete in debate, elocution, performing arts, and sports. In 2021–2022, he earned National Recognition in Debate and Elocution, winning a scholarship that allowed him to pursue his MBA with full financial support. What would have cost ₹15 lakhs in fees, accommodation, and living expenses, was covered entirely—he sees this as a testament to the rewards of his dedication.

Talking about his childhood, Dheerendra Singh recalls a simple yet meaningful upbringing. His early schooling took place in his village, where he studied up to Class three before shifting to a nearby city. He fondly remembers his mischievous school days and how he would try to skip school by pretending to have a fever, only for his father to check with a thermometer and promptly send him back. He laughs as he recalls long bicycle rides to school, sometimes 10–15 kilometers each way, an experience that built his resilience and independence.

After completing his 12th, he began his B.Tech studies and soon found himself drawn to hostel life, a phase he cherishes deeply. Waking up at 4 AM, sharing coffee with friends, and the blend of fun and study define those formative years.

Looking back on his interest in public speaking, Dheerendra says that public speaking is more than just a skill, it’s a way to spread awareness and bring people together. He takes inspiration from some of the greatest communicators in history: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Swami Vivekananda, and Mahatma Gandhi.

He highlights that the world remembers them, not just for what they did, but because they shared their ideas with the people. He is especially inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, who, despite many challenges, was able to unite millions through his words and vision. Dheerendra strongly believes that the power of speech can motivate people and even change the course of a country. That belief is what drives him to step into the world of politics to make a real difference.

Dheerendra credits much of his success to his role models. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, he says, is his lifelong inspiration. Despite societal rejection, Ambedkar remained committed to the ideals of justice and equality. Dheerendra admires how Ambedkar—denied even basic rights such as drinking water or entering classrooms—still wrote the Constitution with a focus on unity and fairness, never taking revenge or harboring bias. “If someone else had faced that level of injustice,” he reflects, “they may have responded with vengeance. But Dr. Ambedkar rose above that. That’s what makes him my ideal.”

He also draws deep inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s life—rising from modest beginnings, overcoming hardship, and leading the world’s largest democracy. “He’s shown us what’s possible with dedication,” Dheerendra says. “We must learn from that.”

Dheerendra Singh underlines his love for public speaking and shares a few lines that deeply motivate him. He quotes,

"ये इश्क नहीं आसाँ, बस इतना समझ लीजिए।   एक आग का दरिया है और डूब के जाना है।"

He says that just like love, success demands dedication, pain, and the willingness to burn like fire. Reaching any great stage is not easy. It requires sacrifice, intensity, and a deep commitment to the cause.

He also shares a line he has written himself, which he says constantly drives him forward:

"मंज़िल दूर नहीं हैं भाई, तुमको बस चलना होगा   संघर्ष के दुर्गम पथ पर, तुमको अब ढलना होगा, अगर चाहते हो मिट जाए अंधकार जीवन से तो,  सूरज के जैसा थोड़ा तो जलना होगा|”

This self-written poem reflects his belief that struggle is essential, and only those who are willing to burn bright like the sun can illuminate the path ahead.

Sharing his opinion on politics, Dheerendra Singh says that the youth should enter into politics as India is known as a  country of the young. He laments that people generally criticise that this is wrong or that is wrong through social media, and then abdicate from their responsibility by stating that politics is not their cup of tea, but he thinks that if you want to bring about real change, you must become part of the system and to become a part of the system, one need to enter into politics. If politics feels too heavy a path, then young people should contribute through entrepreneurship, policy research, governance, or social work. Anyone creating employment, solving societal issues, or improving systems is participating in nation-building.

For those who do want to enter politics directly, he recommends two practical paths. First is groundwork politics by beginning at the local level by identifying and raising community issues. People start connecting with you when they see that you’re raising your voice for them. That trust becomes the foundation of political leadership.

Second, he points out, you don’t necessarily need to contest elections. You can engage in politics through policy work, research, or administrative internships in government departments. There are several government initiatives and ministries offering opportunities to youth. If you’re committed, sincere, and hardworking, your path will open, and you can make a real difference.

Dheerendra Singh shares a powerful message rooted in national vision and youth responsibility. He talks about the importance of actively participating in the making of a Viksit Bharat, a developed India. Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call, he emphasizes that this dream is not to be watched from the sidelines, but to be achieved through direct involvement.

Youth Activist Dheerendra Singh shares that one of the Prime Minister’s important goals is to connect one lakh young Indians with politics, especially those who don’t come from political families. According to him, this isn’t just about getting political positions. It’s about helping the youth take part in governance, make policies, and drive real change in the country. He believes that events like the Youth Parliament, leadership meets, and programs like SOL (School of Leadership) and the Young India Leadership Dialogue, recently held at Bharat Mandapam, are all steps in this bigger mission to empower and involve young people in shaping India’s future.

He says that if India wants to become a developed country by 2047, it must rely on the power of its youth, the largest in number in the world. He believes young people have huge potential to bring about positive change. But he also gives a strong message: youth is like fire. If used in the right way, it can light up the world. But if misused, it can be a destroyer. His advice to every young Indian is clear, use your energy to build, not break. Be a force for good and help shape a better future.

Winner of the Youth Parliament of India Competition, Dheerendra proudly acknowledges that Indian youth are already making strides on global platforms. With India now ranked third in the world for startups, he says that it is not just about asking for jobs anymore, it is about becoming job creators. He encourages everyone to take ownership, innovate, and contribute to India’s economic and social development.

In the end he shares a heartfelt message with gratitude, saying that the real essence of a developed India lies in individual growth, which collectively leads to national progress.
