An international powerlifter, Devendra kept striving hard through tough times to make his mark. Despite getting a high education up to a PhD, he had to carry forward his family business of snacks.

Dr. Devendra Sahu is the owner of Bhanu Gruh Udhyog in Udaipur.

Devandra was born and brought up in Udaipur. He remembers many memories of his childhood and the time he spent with his friends, siblings, and family members. He is currently carrying forward  his family business of snacks’.

Talking about his struggles, Devendra says that he faced a tough challenge when his father was bedridden and he had to quit his studies. After six years, he again started his education and completed his BA, MA, and PhD. He went through many hardships as he lost his critical days when he could focus on his career.

Sharing his achievements, Devendra says that he won a silver medal in the Bench Press in the Asian Powerlifting Championship. He also won two bronze medals in the World Powerlifting Competition. He was also recognised as a Strong Man in Udaipur and Rajasthan. In the field of education, he won a gold medal from the Mohanlal Sukhadia University when he completed his PhD in Rajasthani Literature.

Devendra considers Lord Krishna as his role model, as he learned management, proper use of time, and patience from Krshna’s  life. He also admires his teacher, who always supported and motivated him to do further studies.

Devendra likes to read  the Bhagavad Gita and the Bhagwat Puran. He studies them regularly, as they give him motivation and inspiration.

Advising aspirants to his field, Devendra says that one should do their work with seriousness. No work is small; only dedication and determination are required to achieve success in any field.

When asked about his mistakes, Devendra says that everyone makes mistakes in life and learns from them. A person can achieve success by learning from their mistakes.

Comparing education and experience, Devendra says that initially a person connects with education and then slowly gains experience. Education gives guidance and is a medium through which a person can gain experience. He believes that education and experience are interrelated and complement each other.

Sharing his COVID experience, Devendra says that there were both good and bad aspects of the pandemic time. It was a bad time for those who lost their near and dear ones and a good time for those who became successful. He used the pandemic time productively by analysing his new business. He also learned how to live with minimal resources. Covid taught us the importance of time and family.

In his spare time, Devendra likes to watch TV and news channels. He also likes to read newspapers and travel. He also loves to read literature.

If given a time machine to travel back in time, Devendra would  fulfil his incomplete wishes and dreams.
