After trying his hand at different things, Devendra Tripathi found out that his heart lies in working in the social sector and serving others. Therefore, with an aim to serve others, in 2011, he founded the NGO named Dwarkesh Sewa Samiti.

Devendra was born in Kankroli, Rajsamand in Rajasthan. He completed his primary school education in Kankroli itself at his maternal place. Thereafter he studied till 8th-grade in Chittorgarh at his paternal place. Then, he completed the remainder of his school education in Dhariyawad where his father was posted. He did his BA and MA in Sociology in Udaipur.

After completing his formal education, Devendra started his professional career as a teacher and librarian at a school based in Udaipur. After some time, he started his own school by the name Sunrise Public School in Chirwa, Udaipur. Later, when things didn't quite work out for him in Udaipur, he moved to Kapasan in 1998. He worked as a Statistical Quality Controller at a factory there. He also taught at a couple of schools for a few years in Kapasan. Then he again set up a school of his own by the name Unique Public School and also a hostel for students but this time too, he had to face failure. Thereafter, he founded an NGO by the name Dwarkesh Sewa Samiti in 2011 in Kapasan itself.

Devendra shares that his NGO has worked on many governmental projects since its inception. He says that the NGO worked on forming SHGs of women to provide them employment, and on different projects of Watershed and Agriculture departments of Rajasthan.

When asked about Covid, Devendra says that during the pandemic, his NGO worked to provide rations to the needy. Besides, it also arranged for water and tea for police personnel on Covid duty.  He says that we are still not over the pandemic and therefore he advises people to follow all the Covid protocols. Furthermore, he advises people to preserve the ecosystem of the earth to avert any such pandemic in future.

Devendra thinks that he is a born leader. He says at school, he would lead the morning assemblies and other student-led activities. Besides, with time and his experience in life, he has also refined himself as a leader.

To the youth aspiring to join the social sector, Devendra says that it’s a very noble profession, and working in this sector they will get the blessings of people and also get recognition from them. Besides, he says that it’s not always necessary to do something big in the social sector, they can begin with as little as planting trees.

In his spare time, Devendra likes to browse Social Media, listen to old songs, and read books. Chanakya Neeti is his favorite book and he follows the principles mentioned therein.
