Along with his event company, Dev  also owns the biggest comedy club in Gujarat. He has been working in this field for the last five years.

Dev Badala is the CEO and Founder of Cheese Box Studios in Ahmedabad.

Hailing from Udaipur, Dev was brought up in Ahmedabad.

Recalling his childhood, Dev says that he belonged to a middle-class family and that his childhood was normal. He did his schooling at the RH Kapadia School until the fifth grade, and then shifted to Zydus School for higher classes and took PCM. He completed his graduation in physics from St. Xavier’s College because he wanted to become a physics teacher. He was always supported by his parents.

Talking about his journey, Dev says that once he attended a workshop on public speaking when he was in eleventh grade.  There he spoke in front of many people,  and felt like doing something in this field.  He met Aakash, who was the owner of an event company and decided to enter this field. Sometime later, he presented a stand-up comedy set at an open mic session. He also performed at his school farewell function and got a lot of appreciation from everyone.  He started doing and organising shows, concerts, and events. After researching for one year, he started a stand-up comedy club in Ahmedabad named Cheese Box Studios.

Accepting his mistakes, Dev says that not grabbing the opportunities on time earlier is the mistake that he regrets.

Dev’s role model is his father, as he learned a lot from him, like doing hard work with dedication. He also admires Sunny Awasthi, owner of Motojojo, from whom he has learned the concept of running an event firm. He also always got the support of his friends and family members.

Dev’s life mantra is to grab opportunities to learn and gain experience.

In his spare time, Dev likes to handle the creative work related to his event company, like decoration, finance, etc. He also likes to watch movies.

Advising the young generation, Dev says that there is no right or wrong time to start doing stand-up comedy. If you think you can do it, just put in the effort and start.
