I'm holding my breath just because of the music.
I'm holding my breath just because of the music.
Deepshree Ameta lives with her family in Udaipur. She is an anchor, singer, actor and announcer. She hails from a commerce background but her main subject of interest has always been music. She started to train in music from her seventh standard with guru Fayyaz Khan Sahab from Meera Kala Mandir. She has also acted in Bollywood movies and starred in Kajara Re. Her mother saw a lot of scope in the field of music and always supported her. For her post-graduation, she pursued M.Com from MLSU, Udaipur.
Deepshree’s father was in the narcotics department and therefore, he always had to travel from place to place. She says her father is a very disciplined and cleanliness loving person and he even used to clean the sewages if it was necessary without hesitation. Her mother taught her the value of money. She says there was a lot of struggle initially when she started pursuing music, but her mother always supported and encouraged her. She made it look very easy for her and never let her feel low.
Deepshree’s role models in life are her parents and Lata Mangeshkar. She feels whatever she is today, she is because of these two in her life. She has grown up watching and listening to Lata Mangeshkar and says she has learned a lot from her. She carries a lot of respect for both her mother and Lata Mangeshkar in her heart.
Music is like a prayer for me. I can practice music day and night.
Deepshree became the singing queen of Udaipur after winning a competition. She used to devote the majority of her time learning music. She used to work in the day and still managed to spare time for music out of her busy schedule in the night.
For someone who wants to enter the music industry, Deepshree thinks the most important aspect is continuous learning and the patience to listen.
Deepshree is also a music teacher in an institute and also handles the front office for the same. She looks after the planning and implementation of new ideas and activities for music students in her institute.
Deepshree thinks education is important but experience is also a very good teacher. She says just like Sachin Tendulkar, who is saluted by millions of Indians, has no degree or qualification but still carries values for people because of his experience in life.
Even if she could go back in time and change things, Deepshree would always want to stay connected to the field of music. She says music is her life and she cannot live without it.
Deepshree was born in Mandsaur. She was born on the day after Diwali and therefore, her grandfather gave her the name Deepshree which means prosperity. She recalls how she used to get scolded by her father for her writing in her childhood. She feels there were a lot of imperfections in her but, her teachers, friends and her family always encouraged her in life and she can never be thankful enough for all their support.
Deepshree believes leadership qualities come with the experience in life. She learned it while teaching and handling her students in her music classes. She says just a stare of hers is enough to silence them and the way they reciprocate respect towards her always makes her feel good.
Whatever has passed, take it as an experience and move ahead.
Deepshree thinks the Covid-19 pandemic has helped people learn and bond with each other. It taught people to be strong and fight with situations. On the counter side, she also thinks it created chaos among many families, financially as well as within the family members because a lot of people could not handle it. But all and all, Deepshree believes it helped people to learn how to remain positive in life despite any setbacks that they face.
