However, Deepam considers her greatest achievement to be the transformation she has undergone on a personal level. For her, true success lies in self-polishing, self-love, and self-belief, and she has consistently focused on nurturing these qualities within herself. Cultivating a positive mindset has also been a significant accomplishment, allowing her to navigate challenges with resilience and optimism. Deepam believes that her mental and physical health, which she has worked tirelessly to maintain, stands as one of her proudest achievements. Deepam Sharma, originally from Ajmer, relocated to Jaipur after her marriage, where she began to deepen her practice of yoga. Over the past five years, she has not only embraced yoga but also dedicated herself to continually refining her skills and expanding her knowledge in the field. With a strong academic background, Deepam holds a Ph.D. in mass communication and journalism.
However, after completing her doctorate, she realised that her true passion didn’t lie in this field. Recognising her deep connection to yoga, she made a bold decision to transition from her academic career to make yoga her profession. Today, Deepam is committed to helping others achieve physical, mental, and emotional balance through her role as a yoga instructor, fitness trainer, and wellness coach at Yog Deepam in Jaipur.
After making the decision to pursue yoga as her profession, Deepam Sharma dedicated herself to learning and refining her practice. When asked about her career in the field of yoga, Sharma shares that her lifelong commitment to maintaining a healthy lifestyle was rooted in her keen awareness of fitness, nutrition, and overall well-being. She has always prioritised looking and feeling beautiful and fit, which led her to stay active and engage in various fitness activities to keep herself in shape. However, a significant turning point came when a gynaecologist recommended the removal of her uterus due to health issues. This recommendation shook her, but at the same time, her yoga teacher suggested she explore yoga as a holistic alternative to surgery.
Deepam decided to take this advice to heart and began practicing yoga with full dedication. To her amazement, yoga helped her heal and manage her health issues, providing a much-needed cure. This experience not only deepened her interest in yoga but also ignited a passion that turned her hobby into a professional calling. Since then, Deepam has become fully committed to yoga, using its transformative power to not only heal herself but also to inspire and help others lead healthier, more balanced lives.
Recalling her childhood, Sharma describes it as a joyful and fulfilling time, full of love and encouragement. She fondly remembers how her father, being the sole figure of support in the family, pampered and motivated her. As the only daughter, she felt a special bond with him, and his unwavering belief in her became a key driving force in her life.
Deepam Sharma believes that the early support from family plays a crucial role in one’s growth and success, as it builds the foundation for confidence and perseverance. However, her world changed drastically when she lost her father at a young age, a loss that introduced her to the realities of struggle and hardship. This difficult experience gave her a deeper understanding of resilience and the importance of overcoming challenges, shaping her into the strong and determined person she is today.
Deepam shares that the loss of her father at the age of 21 marked a turning point in her life. This heartbreaking event forced her to step into a more responsible role, as she was the eldest in the family. Despite her young age, she became the pillar of support for her family, taking on numerous responsibilities to ensure everyone’s well-being. The early loss and the subsequent challenges she faced shaped her into a strong and resilient individual, instilling in her a sense of duty and determination that has guided her through many struggles.
Despite facing numerous challenges and a lack of support earlier in her life, Deepam found a source of unwavering encouragement in her husband, Dr. Lalit. She credits him for being the driving force behind many of her educational achievements, including pursuing a BJMC, MJMC, and a Ph.D. in Mass Communication and Journalism.
However, after completing her Ph.D., Deepam realised that journalism was not her true passion. Understanding her inner calling, her husband supported her wholeheartedly in making the bold decision to step away from journalism and explore her newfound interest in yoga. This turning point marked the beginning of her transformative journey into the world of yoga, a path she has since followed with dedication and passion.
When asked about the challenges she faced in her life, Sharma reflects on the pivotal moment when she decided to pursue yoga as a career at the age of 36. It was a significant decision, filled with uncertainty, as she wondered whether she could truly succeed in this new path. Despite the doubts, Deepam found the courage to follow her passion and believed in her ability to make it work. The unwavering support from her friends and family played a crucial role in boosting her confidence, allowing her to embark on her yoga journey with determination and enthusiasm.

Understanding the importance of being physically fit, she made it her priority to work on her health and transform her body.
