A film actor and director, Deepak has been working in the field for the past 20 years. Dedicating his life to his career, he has trained many young actors and is giving them opportunities that he did not have when he was younger.

Deepak Baldev Thakur is a film director and chairman of Glitters Film Academy, Hyderabad.

Recalling his childhood memories, Deepak says he was brought up among elders and gained maturity at a very young age, which helps him express his emotions on screen. He remembers that he used to skip school and tuition classes and would go to watch movies, for which he was scolded by his parents. But today, even his parents are supporting their child's dreams of becoming an actor.

Deepak shares that he is a trained actor from the Asha K. Chandra Academy in Mumbai, and he worked there as an assistant faculty member for six months. Thereafter, he came back to Hyderabad and was searching for work as an actor. He says that way back in 2001, there were not many opportunities available to actors like today, and he had to struggle a lot. He didn't want to change his profession and wanted to stay in the same field, so he founded a film academy in 2001 to share his knowledge and provide opportunities to aspiring artists that he couldn't get himself. He got name and recognition in the industry in a short span of time. His academy also organized talent and dance shows to discover new talents. Today, he is associated with many legendary directors and has trained many actors for the Telugu and Hindi film industries.

When asked about his role models, Deepak says that he has no specific role model, but he has always aspired to and worked towards becoming an actor. His motivation for establishing an academy is to provide opportunities to qualified candidates.

Deepak feels that today’s generation wants quick results and is not focusing on sincerity, discipline, and hard work, which should be the first priorities. There are a lot of opportunities available nowadays with the increasing trend of OTT platforms. With talent and experience gained through struggle, anyone can become a great actor.

Speaking about his achievements, Deepak says he finds satisfaction in helping his students excel in their fields. He has also produced feature films starring his students. His film was nominated for IIFA awards as well.

If he gets a chance to travel back in time, he would not want to change anything and feels delighted to have worked in the industry for the last 20 years.

In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family. Deepak says that every day he gets to do something different in his profession, never feels bored in his life, and enjoys teaching his students.

Deepak says that COVID made everyone realize the importance of values in family relationships.
