Inspired by his father, Deepak decided to dedicate his life to learning and making a career in Thewa art. He is determined to carry forward the legacy of his family’s traditional art form.

Deepak Raj Soni is an artist who has been pursuing Thewa art for the past several years. He describes Thewa art as intricate gold work on coloured glass.

Deepak hails from Pratapgarh, Rajasthan.

Speaking about his journey, Deepak says that seeing his father work and get recognised by the GOI inspired him to learn Thewa art. He started drawing when he was in the 6th grade, under the guidance of his father. Thereafter, after completing his college studies, he completely devoted his entire time and mind to learning and promoting the art.

Speaking of his difficulties, Deepak laments that the demand for this art is gradually declining. Although he feels happy that there are still some art lovers who prefer buying the original traditional artwork.

To all the aspiring artists, Deepak advises them that with firm determination and hard work, everyone can learn this art. He says that everyone should learn and promote this traditional Indian art form.

Deepak believes in living life with rules. He follows a regular routine. Whenever he feels stressed, he spends some time with his family and friends.
