Deepa Gushai is a Teacher at Miranda Senior Secondary School in Udaipur. She has been working with the school for the past ten years.
Deepa was born and brought up in Udaipur. She has done a B.A. from Meera Girls College and a B.Ed. from S.S. College of Education.
Remembering her childhood, Deepa says that her father used to inspire her to participate in every activity since childhood. She says that her father used to take her and her siblings for morning walks and also encouraged them to participate in all kinds of games like basketball and cricket.
Regarding her achievements, Deepa says that before joining Miranda School, she was a housewife, and with the desire to do something, she decided to become a teacher after doing her B.Ed. She says that after joining this school, with the encouragement of the Principal, she started training children in sports and other activities apart from teaching. Today, the children taught by her have been performing well in many competitions, and many times her name has also been carried in the papers along with those of the children, which she considers her achievements.
When asked about her role models, Deepa says that she considers her father as her role model. She says that her father always motivated her to participate in games and other co-curricular activities.
When asked which is more important in life, education or experience, Deepa says that both are important and complementary to each other. She says if we go for the interviews, the interviewer will ask for both. In the same way, she has seen the ladies who are not very educated, but because of their experience in teaching, they are good educators.
Deepa's favorite shlok, which she says always motivates her, is " गुरूर्साक्षात परब्रह्म तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः ।।”
Deepa advises the housewives who want to become teachers that they just have to have guts and come forward. She urges them to show courage and move out of the house to fulfill the responsibilities of the family, solve the problems of their home, and apply to any school.
Deepa advises the youth that they should also participate in other activities along with education. She says that the youth should learn various skills along with their studies and strive to build a future for our country.
