Dashrat Singh Shaktawat hails from a small place in Bhinder, near Udaipur. He provides food services in college messes and hospitals on a contractual basis.
Talking about his early days, Dashrat says that he studied till the 12th grade in Bhinder, after which he started losing interest in studies. In fear of his elder brother, he fled to Mumbai and started working as a manager in a hospital. Dashrat then dreamed of becoming a contractor and started working towards the idea. Since then, he has not looked back.
Recalling his childhood, Dashrat says he remembers playing kabbadi, kho-kho, volleyball, softball, and cricket with his friends.
Describing his struggles, Dashrat shares that he lost his wife, with whom he had two daughters. Thereafter, he remarried, during which he lost the contract with Geetanjali College and Hospital.
When asked about his role models, Dashrat says he draws inspiration from his grandfather, who taught him how struggles and hard work help you become a better person in life.
Drawing a comparison between education and experience, Dashrat says that education is the first step after which one starts gaining experience.
For people aspiring to work in his field, Dashrat advises they take a course in nutrition and dietetics after completing their 12th grade. Thereafter, he advises them to gain experience in the field before starting something of their own.
In his free time, Dashrat likes to jog and play volleyball. He is also a true follower of the Brahmakumaris and enjoys their yogic and meditation practices.
