Darshan, a Geography enthusiast experienced cultural differences at an early stage in life and decided to revisit her roots back in Rajasthan.

Darshan Kunwar who hails from Sirohi, completed her education till the 8th standard in South India. Thereafter, to experience the culture and society of the North, she came back to Rajasthan and continued her education here. Darshan completed her Bachelors in Political Science and Public Administration with Geography as her main subject. Having been interested in the teaching field, she has also done her Bachelors in Education and is currently pursuing her Masters in Geography from Mohanlal Sukhadia University.

Darshan believes that Arts as a stream is more valued in North India and considers it as a subject of the future discussing its relevance for civil services. She took up Geography as her subject since it keeps her connected to the environment and she wishes to use it as a medium to educate future generations about the status of land as a resource.

Talking about her childhood, Darshan shares that she used to be a dull and quiet child, however when she grew up and ventured out, it changed her perspective and personality as a whole. She considers visiting her grandparents as her best childhood memory.

Discussing COVID, Darshan shares that it was a challenging time for her as a student and at the professional front, her job came to a halt and she had to spend time alone during the lockdown period. However, once the situation bounced back to normalcy, Darshan got a job as a professional teacher and believes that it was the best time to spend with her family. She says that the pandemic served as a golden period for nature to rejuvenate itself and get healed in the process.

Darshan counts her confidence and financial independence as her achievements. She shares that shifting to a hostel at a very tender age and staying away from the family was a struggling phase for her. However, she also learnt to adjust to her surroundings better. She considers her father as her role model and appreciates his patience, calmness and modesty which she wishes to imbibe in herself.
