With a burning desire to carve his path in the business world, Darshan founded his own manufacturing company, focusing on semi-precious stone products. Delivering top-quality products to his customers, he earned the Best Entrepreneurship Award in Mumbai and has been associated with organisations like RMB, JITO and KCCI.

Darshan Doshi owns the Dev Group, a furniture manufacturing company in Udaipur. They make furniture using semi-precious stones and gemstones, like dining tables, coasters, console tables, and customised furniture.

Darshan began his own business in 2007. Before that, he worked for a company. After two years there, he started providing raw materials to that same company. He also studied Gemology.

Darshan began sourcing semi-precious stones of about 200 colours from countries like South Africa, Brazil, and Indonesia. In 2010, he built a factory and started making furniture studded with gemstones. He has been in the furniture business ever since and plans to open another factory soon.

Sharing his achievements, He shares that from his early days in a job, he had aspirations of owning his own business, which he has now successfully realised. His entrepreneurial ventures have taken him to various countries, including South Africa and Brazil, where he has forged valuable connections and conducted business.

In recognition of his achievements and contributions to the business community, Darshan has been honoured with the Best Entrepreneurship Award in Mumbai, a testament to his entrepreneurial prowess and success. Additionally, he is actively involved in various professional organisations, including Rotary Means Business (RMB), JITO, KCCI Udaipur, and Laghu Udyog Bharati.

Hailing from Udaipur, Darshan completed his schooling at Guru Nanak Public Senior Secondary School. He then graduated from a private college, where he pursued a course in Interior Design and Architecture. Developing a keen interest in gemstones and semi-precious stones, he ventured into the business. His elder brother also plays a role in the business, overseeing the production department while Darshan manages the sales department.

Reflecting on his role models, Darshan says he looks up to his father, who provided unwavering support and assistance in his business endeavours. Additionally, his elder brother offered guidance and support, contributing to his growth and success.

During the initial challenges of starting his business, Darshan found inspiration in the song "Udta udta ek parinda aise tuta," which motivated him to persevere through difficult times.

Talking about his challenges, Darshan shares that raising funds was one of the major challenges he faced in his business journey. Despite approaching many relatives for support, he received no assistance. However, his elder brother stepped in and provided some funds, enabling him to begin exporting their products.

Another hurdle he encountered was the difficulty in finding labour when he started his factory. Despite these initial challenges, he gradually expanded his workforce and business. Additionally, his business partner, Ramakant Sharma, shifted his base from Jaipur to Udaipur. Together, they made significant strides in their business endeavours over time.

Darshan emphasises the collective effort of his entire team in contributing to the progress of their country.

For those aspiring to work in the field of gemstones, Darshan shares his extensive experience, having spent nearly two decades learning about gemstones. He highlights the importance of understanding the unique characteristics of each gemstone, such as colour, lustre, and more, which can be learned through practical experience in the field. He also advises learning about the effects of gemstones and where they should be placed.

To the youth, Darshan stresses the significance of proper money management in achieving success in business. He encourages them to develop skills in managing finances effectively, even with limited funds.
