CI Ratan Singh is a Police Inspector at the ACB, a special unit of the Rajasthan Police in Udaipur.
Ratan belongs to Khindora village, Pali. He completed his schooling in his village and then did his graduation and post-graduation at Falna. In 1999, he joined the police force as a sub-inspector. His first posting was at Banswara, and then he was posted to the Udaipur range. Currently, he is working in the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Ratan Singh is also a yoga enthusiast and gives free yoga classes.
Recalling his childhood, Ratan says that his father was very spiritual. He saw a holy environment at his home. He also used to do prayers and ‘havana’, and gradually this habit grew He is also now connected with the Banke Bihari temple of Vrindavan.
Ratan shares that he had been fascinated by the police uniform since childhood. He was always interested in this field, so he worked hard to get the job of a sub-inspector. He was selected for the Mewar Bhil Corps and worked there for ten years. Gradually, he got inclined towards spirituality too. So, he decided to join the ACB to serve society.
Ratan’s role models are his parents, gurus, and Lord Krishna. The goal of his life is to attain salvation. He also admires Rakesh Purohit and wants to follow his path in his spiritual journey.
Sharing about his achievements, Ratan says that he was awarded the Uttam Seva and Attiuttam Seval medals. He was also recognised for his work at MBC Banswara. He has also been rewarded by various yoga institutions.
Advising aspirants to his field, Ratan says that there are many direct vacancies, such as for constables and SIs, and you could also join the Rajasthan Police through RAS and IPS. So, the newcomers can try to pass these exams if they are interested in joining the police force. He says that the process in these exams includes a written exam, then physical tests, and then an interview.
Comparing education and experience, Ratan says that basic education is required in any field. After getting an education, one can gain experience.
Ratan advises the young generation through a quote of Swami Vivekanand: "Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached." It is important for the youngsters to wake up early and sleep early and to work with full energy to contribute towards the growth of the nation.
Ratan pleads with everyone that it is important to do meditation for an hour every day. Yoga should be learned properly and then practised.
