Chandrashekhar Sahu is the owner of two fast food joints in Udaipur, Vinod Fast Food and the Attari Cafe.
Chandrashekhar was born and brought up in Udaipur. He completed his education until the twelfth grade and says that his childhood was pretty normal. He used to sell fruits and food products on stalls coming back from school since he was in 4th grade, which also affected his studies and made him unable to do his schooling properly.
Explaining the name of his cafe, Chandrashekhar says that in the Mewari dialect, Attari means something that belongs to that particular place; in Hindi, it means a terrace. Chandrashekhar says that over 90 people can dine in his cafe, which has indoor, semi-outdoor, and outdoor or rooftop dining options.
Chandrashekar shares that he faced a lot of challenges during the time of COVID, but he was grateful that he was able to spend more time with his son and his family.
When asked about his role models, Chandrashekhar draws inspiration from his mother, who was a strong lady and did what she wanted in her life, and his elder brother, who taught him some valuable life lessons that made him more confident and independent. He has learned a lot from both and credits them for his success.
Chandrashekhar advises the youth who want to run food junctions to work hard for a year or even more than that without expecting a lot in return, because even though this field seems so shiny and all good from a distance, you have to face a lot of hardships setting it up.
In his free time, Chandrashekar loves spending time with his son and playing squash.
Chandrashekar’s message to everyone is to be honest and faithful towards whatever you are doing, and also to not lose hope in yourself.
