Chandra Prakash Chittora hails from Udaipur. He is a miniature book artist and book binder in Udaipur, Rajasthan. He has got various achievements in the field of designing miniature books.
Chandra Prakash says he was born and brought up in a very poor family and passed his schooling with lots of struggle and hard work. He shares that he went to many places to learn book binding work.
Recalling his childhood memories, Chandra Prakash says that he used to play many outdoor games with his childhood friends and wishes that those times could come back.
When asked about his challenges, he says that in the initial stage, many people questioned his work. However, he never cared about the people and continued to work with honesty and positivity.
Sharing his life experiences, he says, after learning book binding he worked for sometime at some printing presses on a meager salary. Later, in 1980, he got posted in a Government press as a Book binder. After working there for years and learning, he finally got promoted to a senior position and shifted to Jodhpur in 2011. There he worked in the government press at Jai Narain Vyas University. While working in the press, he got interviewed and showcased his artistic talent in various newspapers including ETV Rajasthan.
Chandra Prakash says that he has created miniature books for many politicians and famous personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Gulab Chand Kataria, and more.
When asked about his role models, Chandra Prakash says that he considers Iqbal Sakka, who does intricate art and design work on gold, as his role model. Also, he shares that his mother is his biggest ideal who always teaches him not to give up and work with utmost honesty.
Chandra Prakash yearns to always be independent, and keep learning and educating people about miniature art.
Talking about his achievements, Chandra Prakash says he was honored by the collector at the district level in 2004 for making life introduction diaries and micro books. He also received a certificate from Royal Success Book, Hyderabad, a lifetime achievement award by Magic Book of Records, and was recognized by Guinness Book of World Records for making the world’s tiniest diary.
For anyone willing to enter the entrepreneurship space, Chandra Prakash says that the idea of continuous learning is the key to becoming successful. There is no age to learn a new skill and pursue a career, the only thing you need is the will to learn and grow, he says.
If Chandra Prakash were to choose between education and experience, he would choose the latter. He believes that a person should be educated but should keep on learning with ongoing education.
Chandra Prakash advises the youth to continuously work hard for their dreams, grow, and make their nation proud. The youth these days should understand the importance of time and use it wisely, he says.
In his leisure time, he loves to write about general public problems in various newspapers and listen to Akashvani Radio. He also is fond of doing social work in his free time.
